  2. Based on the fishing report and pictures it looks like you guys had a great trip! Congratulations on figuring out all the details of what it takes to catch the size and quantity of fish that you did. Nice job mate! - Tate
  3. Actually thanks to Grampa who gave me the tour of the lake, amazing wealth of knowledge on so many lakes in New England. Looking forward to a return trip Cochituate on the 30th, plenty of good fishing in that place. Son of a gun Grampa boated like 5 Larry's in the short time it took me to retie. I will bring the grill and some dogs/burgers. Tate
  4. Wallum Lake has very few weeds ....and it is in Ma AND Ri :-) Not sure where you are located but alot of the Cape Cod lakes are also weed free.
  5. Tom I hope everything works out well for your daughter. Tate
  6. Hope you have better times ahead. End of September is a ways away hopefully things will work out and you can join us. - Tate
  7. I live just off the 495/109 exit in Milford which is on your way to Cochituate .... if you want you can park at my place and we can head to the lake from there which is 20 minutes from my house. Tate
  8. ok mabasshunter .... one of the open seats is yours. tate
  9. September 30 is perfect, I will also have a back seat open. I think we plan a little nosh after the fishing .... I can bring my portable grill and will bring paper plates, hot dogs, burgers and rolls/buns. - Tate
  10. Ok men, time to have at least one NEGT before the end of the year! Jiggy, GundleLover, Jonesy, Rhino, Deak, Freebie, Sleepless, Hoist-em-hogs, the-one-that-got-away, tugandpulls, others, .... what do you say... time to get together? Cochichuate bite will be on in September .... lots of fish and big ones in that places ..... should be a fairly central location so lets see if we can make September work. I'm think Rhino might be away on the 16th so perhaps if we delay a week or two he will be back from his trip to the South. Tate

I didn't care for Pramenti Bros. (hope that doesn't violate the no negative vendor post rule) ..... I didn't care for the fries and slaw topping off the sandwich. One of my favorites when working in NYC is the pastrami sandwich at the Carnegie Deli on 7th Ave in Midtown. Second to the Carnegie has to be the BOG from Oliva's Italian Market in Milford Ma. BOG is an Italian cold cut sandwich name after the owner Babe Oliva Grindaa. My own Muffaletta sandwich on homemade bread is pretty dang good also. Tate
  13. wow that is a great job!! nicely done!
  14. pretty consistent 69 degrees at Whitehall on Friday late morning. however the depth averages around 7' so probably a little warmer than the deeper lakes. The bite was on .....caught some good size fish in the lily pads. Tate
  15. This is my boy Tyson, he is a one and half year old Boxer. Great dog!
  16. wow ... the HDS7 Gen 2 .... you went all in Grundle! Congrats and good luck on Sunday.
  17. They stocked it with Northern Pike a good number of years ago but they did not do well in that habitat. I was talking with a local last year and they said early season someone found a big dead one on the shore. In fact they mentioned that a heron was standing over it.
  18. I am out of town until mid-day so I am a no go. Have fun and good luck. - tate
  19. Great report ....thanks for taking the time to post. Sounds like everyone had a great time. Tate
  20. Grundle you going to show that dang Heron who the boss is? WH is fine with me.
  21. Not sure .... I have a mod-vee and it is plenty deep without backing into the water. The pitch of the ramp is not steep but it isn't flat either, also it is not a paved ramp. I think you would be fine ....if not there are plenty of good lakes nearby ..... Masphee-Wakeby, John's Pond, Ashumet and Peters Pond. There is parking at the ramp for 5 or 6 rigs but parking is allowed up on the road.
  22. Checkout Santuit in Mashpee .... The pond is not to big, very few pleasure craft if any and offers pretty good protection from the wind. Plenty of good size fish and is perfect for your Kayak. Tate
  23. I also like fishing Santuit.... I was there on Friday and had a good day. The 3'' sluggo produced a bunch but the bigger fish were caught on Fat Albert's. Surface water temps were low at 47degrees. I was a frequent flyer there through the 90's and early 2000's but gave up on it when it's popularity grew and when the algae problems started. Last year even boating access was stopped due to the toxicity of the blue/green algae. The end of last year it actually "crashed" where the algae grew to such a level that it starved itself out and temporarily disappeared. The timing was good as that happened end of last year and this year they installed the solar powered circulator's in mid may. The circulator's will mix oxygen with the water at the lower depths which will help stop the bottom sediment from releasing phosphorus which feeds the algae. The only challenge with a get together there is the resident only restricted parking Memorial day through Labor day. There is some parking on the streets around it plus we could probably leave some tow rigs and trailers just up the road at the A&P and then shuttle down to the lake in one or two vehicles. It might be worth it as pleasure crafts are minimal even on the summer weekends.
  24. I want to issue a 1 month suspension from having fun for my Boxer Tyson for chewing and destroying not one but two pair of Costa 580's (at the same time)!
