Yep. I think once you think about it a while you will appreciate your decision. Not only could you possibly catch that fish again when it's even bigger, but keeping that bass' genes in the water is a good thing. Bass that get that big are rare. It has a trait for that and it will pass it to it's offspring year after year thus making the possibility of another fish that size greater. You got the measurements. Pic?? Take all that to a taxidermist and get a replica made. Congrats!!!

Exactly A GOOD day is anyday on the water A GREAT day is at least one fish whatever you put your "lunker" rating at. For the lakes I fish I set the bar at about the 4.5 lbs mark

My Rig 10X5 Utility Trailer

Lots of things, but the firsts things that come to mind 1) Being on the lake on an EARLY summer morning and watching nature "wake up" for the day. Fog coming off the lake just adds to the effect. 2) Getting prepared the night before 3) The anticipation on the drive to the lake 4) Being on the lake in the middle of the night and it's so silent it's loud. Sounds crazy unless you have experienced it. My fishing buddy knows what I am talking about so I know I am not completely nuts. 5) The hunt. Putting a pattern together.

That's terrible. I send my condolences. I got a wake up call last year. Shortly after ice out (waters in the low to mid 40's) I tripped over some rope in my boat and went overboard while launching the boat. Before that i had no clue what water like that would do to your body. My body didn't work!!!! It took everything I had to get back to my feet (water was about 4 ft deep) and make it back to shore which was about 10 yards away. It scares me to think if I would have had to swim any distance. I don't think I could of. I now wear on auto-inflate pfd at all times until the water gets into the 60's.

We have a little joke in my neighborhood ...... Neighborhood meetings are conducted when the Tornado sirens sound. It's the only time we are all outside. ;D I've honestly met 75% of my neighbors either during a Tornado Warning or a big snow storm.

I think the same could be said the other way around too
