big bass frogs need big bass water, right?
Only one way to find out ..... give'r a go. I would say if there is a food source, the bass will be there at one point or another.

2 man bass boat registration
If you plan on paddling .... no. If you plan to use a trolling motor and/pr a small outboard .... yes. At least that's the rules in KS.

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
Actually they picture does have "some" history that relates back to Perry. The photo was found by Jerry Johnson when cleaning out his Aunt's things when she passed away. Research has shown that the Perry and Johnson familes are connected. (How?? .... the article doesn't say :-/) The palm trees in the back have also been identified today as to where Perry supposedly weighed the bass at the Helena Post office. The Palm Trees are still there today as well as the modernized Post Office.

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
I see what you are saying, but there is no doubt that Mac Weakley "caught" the bass. There is eye witnesses and even video. I also think there is a pic with Weakley with the bass somwhere out there. It's just the one we are used to seeing is with his buddy. I always doubted whether THE BASS ever existed or not. Before I believed the WR about 10% or so. Now after this pic, it's more like 85%. There is still some holes in the story, but it's good enough for me to accept the record.

Pics from your childhood
Let's see the cave paintings then ;D I know I have a few somewhere around here. I know I have a couple of me at the always tough Trout Haven : reeling in some monster rainbow trout when I was real little. Here's a pic of me fishing in Colorado. I think I was in 7th Grade.

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
That's kind of the way I felt too, but I still think there are some major doubts. For instance, Who is in the pic?? Why don't we have a pic with Perry in it?? The article said the pic was found in 2005 ..... Why make it public now?? Then there is always the photoshop issue. So do I 100% believe it ...... Not yet, but I believe it a whole lot MORE than before. Did you also notice that Bassmaster Mag put a little on the side hoping someone would see this pic and be able to answer some more questions. It kind of reminds me of that TV Show, "Unsolved Mysteries".

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
Evidently that's not the correct picture. Someone mentioned earlier that the picture in Bassmaster has Perry holding a baby in diapers and the fish. Someone just scan it or take a picture of the page and post it. Alright I am on it!!!! BTW - I said it was Perry holding the fish ......... Well after reading the atricle, they don't know who is holding the bass. They suspect it is his fishing buddy and they have no clue who the baby is. I will post the pic in a few minutes.

How much do you spend
No comment ..... ;D Like Capt Cali said though ... it varies. I woould say it averages out to somewhere near $100 a month.

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
YOU TOO! I also shrink my bass so everyone will believe I really caught them. And also because I don't want everyone fishing in my favorite lake. Yah that's it, that's the reason I shrink my bass (Those are a couple of 8 pounders in the avatar) Roger You too ......... That one in mine was a hair over 10. I don't know if you remember my previous one ...... she was 21 lbs even and a new TX record when I was down there. I knew nobody would believe that so I shrunk her down to half that size ;D

Picture of Perry's bass!!!!
No it's not the pic of the replica. It's a pic of Perry with a little boy in his diapers holding the bass, supposedly outside the post office. Before I could not believe the record at all. There was tons of doubt in my mind. "They" said there was a pic, but it couldn't be found. Now it is found. Now I can believe the record with a little more certainty. 100% ...... far from it. But I guess I can believe it more than I can doubt it. Like Capt. Cali said though ... Why now?? And in this day in age ..... Photoshop is always a possiblity. Like for instance, I photoshop all my bass I put on here to make them SMALLER so they will fit in the camera. ;D ;D Do I personally think it's photoshopped ... No.

Yes I saw it as well. Looks pretty convincing.

How do YOU find a pattern?
Remeber though it's MUCH easier said than done. Most important is ...... Loacation, Location, Location. A bass that is not there won't bite the perfect bait. Now a bass that is there has a chance to bite your bait even if it's not the perfect one. Now once you narrow down location, take into account how the bass you catch are hooked. If they are hooked good and deep inside the mouth (all trebles inside the mouth for cranks, topwaters, jerkabits, etc.) ...... you now have the "perfect" bait in the "perfect" location and a ........... PATTERN.

Braggin Time
6-0 caught on May 2 on a Sizmic Toad. My goal was(is) to catch an 8+ this year. If I don't catch it here in the next couple weeks, I don't think it's going to happen.

Sturgeon General Warning:"Senkonlylimitativism"
This is almost surreal ......... Are you making trips to KS and fishing with my main fishn' buddy??? Is my main fishn' buddy making trips to RI??? You just described him to a "T"!!!!! It gets so frustrating sometimes. Especially when there is a good crankbait bite going or any other faster moving bait for that matter. Sense the trolling motor is in the back of both of my boats (for now) I am stuck and can only fish as fast as his senko can fall and get back to the boat .................. FOREVER!!!! There are those days when the number of fish you can catch is limited to the number of casts you can make. He just doesn't get that for some reason. There has honestly been days where I catch 20+ and he might catch 2 or 3 When I first started fish with him, his bait of choice was Crappie jigs. He then saw me catching more and bigger bass on T-rigged plastic worms so he slowly made the switch. (I can't really talk too much though. Up into about 5 years ago, I was either throwing a T-rigged worm or a jig) Then I started catching loads of bass on the weightless senko 2 or 3 years ago and he sooooooooo reluctant to switch. And when he did, he refused to fish them weightless. Finally about the middle of last year, he started fishing them weightless. So let's just hypothetically say we spot some bass 500 ft. down on the depth finder ........ guess what he is tying on. Yep ..... a weightless Senko. :-[ I seriously don't know why he even carries a tackle box. :-/ I can't wait till I get a T/M up front. I will enjoy seeing him try to fish a weightless Senko with the T/M on high. ;D ;D ;D
