  1. The next Sportscenter is on here at 10:00 pm central. The short video was at the very end of the show.
  2. What would it cost to get a brand new '06 model? I would compare it to that. Are you set on an aluminum boat? Are you set on brand new?
  3. Did anybody just see that on Sportscenter. They had the video of the guy weighing the bass on the scale!!! And the video does the fish way more justice than that pic. What a beast!!!!!!!!! They said they had their crew on it and there will be more tonight.
  4. The old record has tons of controversy, why not the NEW one!!!! ;D Although the new one would have much less to do with the fish and more with the technicalities of how it was caught.
  5. I think I read somewhere that this particular bass has a distinct black spot under one of it's gills.
  6. I have a two man boat like that and there is NO way I would get an 8 ft. for two people. It would be alright for 1, but I have a 11 ft and it's about as small as I would go for 2 people. Maybe 10.
  7. Hold the horses!!!! Instead of patiently waiting for a good deal on a Jon, go out and actively look for one. What I mean is drive around the neighborhood(s) and look for people with Jons in their backyard that looks like they haven't been used in ages. If you have any lake communities in your area, even better. I was pretty picky and wanted something 14+ ft, but I found a couple 12's that I could have bought for $150 or so and a 10 ft I could have got for around $100 by doing this. LBH I believed left notes on people doors that were on his UPS route.

    Welcome Back!!!!!
  9. Actually I think it's quite ugly!!!! ;D ;D
  10. I think Mattlures put it well on that other thread: "It's probably not going to be recognized, but it's still the biggest bass ever caught"
  11. There's only two bass I would keep ..... the WR and a state record. I would keep the World Record alive if at all possible and find somewhere that would take it in and had a big enough tank so that paople could go look at it.It would be interesting to see how big it could actually get before kicking the bucket. Yes that would probably be better, but when it does kick the bucket .... it's going up on my wall.

  13. Can't we just get a WR without the controversy. There's already tons of controversy stirring about this thing and it hasn't even been approved yet.
  14. I hope it's true!!!!!!!! So many of these things always are a hoax at the end.
  15. I am taking a class next fall (actually three, one credit hour courses) on the ins and outs of Photoshop. Hopefully by nexy year I can put out some cool photo projects. Good work LBH, I especially like that first one. That deserves to be framed and hung on a wall.
  16. LBH I also agree with that. I think the quantity of quality bites is the greatest between 1:00 am to about 5:00 am(summer). But when you narrow it down to just ONE big bite, it seems like a lot of people catch them right in the middle of the day. It would be interesting to see what the "trophy" hunters think (i.e. Mike Long)
  17. He would probably catch more if he fished on the windward side.
  18. Roadwarrior posted a thread called "Catching Big Bass". In the post he said prime time for BIG bass was 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. I agree 100%. It goes against a lot of what you read, but it seems like a lot of people catch their PB right in the middle of the day, myself included. I was just curious if there might be a pattern here. Mine - 3/25/05 - 12:40 pm
  19. It would be interesting to see what time everybody has caught their PB. My top 2 were both around 1:00 pm. I think I will start another thread and pose that question.
  20. Come on guys .... shoot for the stars ....... 22 lbs. 6 oz : ;D CGS is right. 7 lbs. here in Kansas is a good mark to shoot for.
  21. According to the weight calculator my PB weighed in at about 11 lbs. According to my Berkeley digital scale I had at the time ..... 10 lbs. 8 oz. You look at some of those Texas Share-a-Lunkers ..... the weight calculator is way off. So my opinion is it's a descent estimate, but not accurate.
  22. Avid, The main lake I fish at night is scattered with docks and grass. During the day I believe most of the bigger bass bury themselves into the grass, go waaaaaaaaay under the docks (most the docks you can't get a bait under because the bottom extends below the water line), or out to deeper off shore structure that I have yet to find (I have only been fishing this lake since early summer last year). At night they seem to venture to the edges of the docks and grass line. So instead of actually putting your bait into the grass or try to get it under a dock, you can catch them cruising on the outside edges.
  23. "Finger nails on a chalk board" .... That's a good way of describing how it feels to me too. I don't know much about the biology bass, but it sure does look like it's uncomfortable for the bass.
  24. It's all removable. The middle section just rest on the ribs and the front section rest of the benches. The rear seat will be screwed in though once I screw in the pedestal seat.
