What is your goal for a new PB
Unless I go on a vacation down south I don't think there is a shot at me breaking my overall PB (10-8). And I am not real confident about breaking my in-state PB either of 8-2. Both of them were caught last year. My previous in state PB was 6-2 , 3 times, and two of them were caught out of a farm pond I don't have access to anymore.

Bed Fishing Scenario ..... need some help ...w/pic
That's what I have always heard too ....... never cast to them while they are off their bed. I just did this one time to see if I could get a reaction strike from her on a wacky rigged senko. One time was enough to stop me from doing it again . I am standing a good 20 yards off .... I am pretty sure visiblity isn't an issue. I am pretty sure she hasn' been stuck yet. This is KS remember, where 90% of the people think the only things in the lake are crappie. ;D Plus if there was any other bass guys out there sight fishing, she was REAL hard to see. The only reason I even saw her was because when I caught the male off bed A, the huge clump of what I though was grass moved. And as far as boat pressure I am pretty sure that is not a issue either. This is a small lake that maybe sees 10 boats a day on it at different times. That being said that coul;d make her even more boat leary, but I am fishing from the bank right now. If I don't catch her by Friday, I am going to go home nad get my boat and see if dragging bait through the opposite way intice her.

Bed Fishing Scenario ..... need some help ...w/pic
OK here's the situation: (Bird's Eye View) Not let me explain the pic. "A", "B", and "C" are all beds with male bass on them. B and C both have about 2 lbs males and A has a 3 lbs. male that I posted yesterday in "Caught the male ........". Now yesterday the female (BIG I am going to say at least 6 lbs maybe pushing 8) was basically lurking around beds A and B, but seemed to be favoring A a little bit. Now this morning she was definitely favoring B ...... big time, but not commiting at all. In fact she never even was actually on the bed. The closest she got was maybe 2-4 ft. The red line I drew was her path that she repeated over and over again until it got too windy and I couldn't see a thing. Every once in a while she will stop for a few minutes. One time she did this and I pitched my bait past her and slowly vounced it past her and she immediately swam off. The water temps are in the mid to high 60's. It looks like we are going to have a minor cold spell this week that started last night. The low dropped down to near 40 and the high is going to be near 70 for about the next week. My questions are: Is she going to commit to one of the beds soon? If so, will it be "B" which she seems to be favoring now even though A has a considerably bigger male on it? (BTW, bed B is more eye appealing ... at least to me. It's in about 5 ft of water and the bed actually sits on top of a small hump that maybe rises a foot or so) Is there any way to catch her effectively when she is just lurking like this? I only learned how to sight fish about 2 years ago, but feel like I got pretty darn good at it last year. So far I have never see anything like this situation where a female will lurk around 3 beds but not commit to one of them. Oh yeah ... and the beds are probably all in about a 20 foot radius from one another and the arrow at the bottom points at which way I am looking at this. I am also fishing from the bank since I am up at school right now if that makes a differnce. I am thinking I am going to bring my boat up here this weekend and hit it from the other angle.

do you prefer to fish alone?
I fish about 50-50 alone/with someone. Which do I prefer .... it dpends. My main fishing buddy is soooooooooo close minded when it come to fishing. I am not trying to be big headed, but I know a whole lot more than him and you figure he would pick up on a few of the things I do. NOPE!!!! He throws one bait, ALL the time, no matter what the conditions, no matter what the time of year ..... a 5" Yum Dinger either watermelon or black. Tell you the truth .... I don't even know why he owns a tackle box. It can get frustrating fishing with him when I am fish a crankbait or some other fater moving bait. Since I am in the back of my own boat (I only have a transom mount trolling motor ... right now), his line is always in my casting area. Even if I am just killing them with something other than a Dinger and he has caught squat ...... will he change it up ..... nope. So if I am powerfsihing, he is extemely hard to go with. If I am finesse fishing, no problem.

best sounds of "fishin"
I second that!!!!! I caught my first bass of '06 in the snow. It was incredible. It kind of felt like I was the only one on Earth. Sooooooooooooooooo silent. I know what you mean.

best sounds of "fishin"
#1 - I am not a big fan of spinninf reels, bu there is nothing like setting the hook and immediately start to hear that drag signing (big bass or log .... :Plol) I wish they could somehow work that sound into baitcasters #2 - A jitterbug's gurgle as you work it over a glass surface #3 - Hearing bass ,or just big fish in general, break the surface early in the morning #4 - The sound of a bug outboard screaming across the lake #5 - Birds #6 - The sound of nothing at all. There are just so many .... these are the few that just came to the top of my head.

rookie question-water warming trends
I can give a real life example from last weekend. At a lake I fish the boat ramp is located near the dam area ...... pretty clear water. Water temp was 58 there. I went to the extreme other end of the lake which is a lot murkier ... almost muddy. Water temp there was 62.

SAL#24
I don't get it. The bass I caught down there last year had the exact same measurments. Mine was a hair under 25.5" though. Caught it the same time of year, same girth, and relatively the same length yet mine was only 10 lbs 8 oz. I personally thought my scale was off, but I checked it when I got home and it was right on. : I got jipped out of a SAL!!!! ;D Seriously though, according to the weight calc, that bass should have weighed somewhere near 11.3 lbs. How can two bass with relatively the same exact measurements, from the same lake, the same time of year have a difference of weight of nearly 2.5 lbs??

Thinking of going with an electric setup, some ???
Fisrt of all, Welcome to the forum. 1. This is a debate that has gone on here before. LBH has found info that a jon boat can only go so fast until it gets on plane. Until it gets on plane it just pushes water. Some of the members of GA though, swear by the multi-trolling motor set-up. 2. I just have a 12v 55 lbs thrust trolling motor and I fish a lake that is 200 acres (no wake lake) and I can fish from 6 am to 3 pm no problem. The tm is my only means of propulsion. 3. No sure 4. I would say it depends on your set up. Do what ever balances out the boat the best 5. If wider is an option ..... go with it. You will never be disappointed 6. I am not real sure, two 3 bank chargers :-/ I am sure some one else with more experience can chime in here 7. GA boys???? 8. Putting in decks will already cut down on a lot of the noise. Mo_Tick is experimenting putting foam under his decks 9. About the livewell ...... One suggestion I would make is just use a big cooler with an aerator. That way it is removable and you can take it out when your not using it. You might want to take a look at Triton_Mike's boat. It sounds like it is exactly what you want. http://www.tritonmike.com/boat.html

Jr. member submits bass for jr. world record!
I am going to say it's more like 99.9999999999999% ;D. I have to think that is the biggest bass anybody on this forum has ever caught. Congrats Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which do you prefer to catch
I can count on one hand how many smallies I have caught and yeah they put up a great fight, but in my book there is nothing like making the perfect pitch between two laydowns in a pocket in the grass and pulling out a big ol' bucketmouth. So smallies are more fun to catch and largemouths are more fun to fish for IMO.

why do people hate this guy?
Oh yeah, and do I have to even tell you why Anna Kournikova doesn't have to win a tourney to keep my attention. :-*
-
why do people hate this guy?
For me .... I don't hate the guy or like the guy. But his "West Side" crap gets a little old on Bass Center. I also thought it was pretty comical how he was talking up Amistad all winter long and all the giant bass he was catching and then when the tourney comes along he blanks. I even put him on my fantasy team for the week >. I think "hate" is a too strong of word here. I think it's pretty hard to say you hate some one, when probably 99% of the people here have ever met the guy personally.
