    Congrats!
  2. Spread the weight out across the boat. I have noticed that the lighter end of the boat will catch the wind more than the weighted end will.
  3. We have an older house that is around 50 years old. Most of the lighting fixtures, plumbing, and hardware are original. Every time something needs to be repaired it turns into a major deal that takes all day. I never can find a new part that will fit like the old broken part.
  4. I use a moderate action with a fast tip for crankbaits, and lipless cranks around 5/16 or less in size. . I use a med. heavy for deep divers and large crankbaits. I like the extra backbone on some of these hard pulling baits.
  5. If the lake I am fishing has a lot of vegetation in it, I use a t-rig. If I can make contact with the bottom, and there is no vegetation then I will use a shakey head.
  6. I use a 15lb mushroom anchor. It sinks into the mud on the bottom, and you can tie off with the anchor line if you need to without using the anchor at all.
  7. 1. Jig with a craw 2. T-rig for the bottom 3. Spinnerbait / Bladed Jig 4. Weightless Fluke or Senko 5. Crankbait / Rat-L-Trap
  8. This time of year it's temperature, wind, and water clarity.
  9. Since this is a fishing forum Charley Farley "Exposed" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6g7-PpI2RU
  10. Pop-r, Spro Bronzeye, and the Jitterbug.
  11. I usually throw black/blue, watermelon, black, and orange/brown depending on the conditions. If I am fishing a new body of water I usually start off with blue/black.
  12. I don't take the entire package with me. I only take a few hooks of each size. I have 3 or 4 old medicine bottles that I write on with a sharpie. I put the hooks in those bottles.
  13. Nice going! I have always wanted to fish those lakes, but the family always has other ideas.
  14. They are saying we could get more snow on Sunday also. On the up side we are suppose to warm up toward the end of next week. Hopefully it will be enough to thaw out the water before the weekend.
  15. I use 10lb or 15lb mono. It depends on what kind of cover I am fishing near.
  16. Tell her that she more important than a fishing trip, and then tell her that you're going to buy flowers, and take her out to dinner. If she still says that you should go fishing, then you are in the clear.
  17. I use gift cards quite a bit. Sometimes they add the points on when you check out and sometimes they don't. If I don't get points when I check out I just go up to the service counter and the points are added on then.
  18. My goal is to fish in some different spots. I always make plans to fish this lake, or that lake, but I usually end up back at the same old water.
  19. Being from STL, I kind of liked the Brown and Crouppen commercial.
  20. Congrats to you and your family!
  21. Have you checked your line guides? Has the braid cut into them making a sharp spot?
  22. I don't use a c-rig unless I have tried everything else. When I do use one I like to use the same baits that I would use for weightless fishing. Mostly senkos, flukes, and tubes.
  23. Good Going! That's a nice one!
  24. Wife and kids first, then comes the temperature. Wind and weather is something I adapt to. If it's too windy to fish from a boat, I will go to a pond and fish from the bank.
