  1. Nice of you to say that -- thank you friend. I hope we can get a report or two posted soon but with high muddy water mixed in with the cold water now...it's gonna be tough !
  2. Mike Carter -- yes. You made a wise choice especially if you want fish Guntersville.
  3. This isn't my fishing report but just a general report of a couple of posts from trips fisherman made on our local fishing forum yesterday. The Good - A pic of a nice double-digit bass caught from the bank on a Rat-L-Trap. A personal best for him. One of many double-digit bass being caught on Chickamauga Lake these days. The Bad - "legal" but improperly maintained besides unethical commercial gill nets stretched from one end of the lake to the other. The Ugly - the fisherman in these pics got hung up in one of these nets. It had quite a few bass in it and while most were dead he was able to save a few. Chickamauga Lake went through a long down period as far as bass fishing goes but with less spraying of grass and the introduction of Florida strain bass it has made a huge comeback especially with very large bass. The pictures of the bass in these nets just makes me sick.
  4. I doubt if it did too much. Maybe a little in the creeks. I didn't fish yesterday but hoping to get out for awhile tomorrow.
  5. I've got quite a few but some of the ones I use more often than not is Navionics...Fishidy...Fishing Points...Fishing Knots Lite.
  6. Our lake smallmouth are usually on the skinny side but we've got some big shoulder football looking "smallies" below our dam. Of course Dale Hollow Lake here in Tennessee holds the world record. Would I rather be in Michigan smallmouth fishing...yes ! As of right now for largemouth I wouldn't go anywhere but here on the "Chick" with double-digit bass common including a 14 and a state record 15 pounder. The smallmouth below the dam on the Tennessee river look a little more like the one in the pic below. Always swimming in the strong current bulks them up pretty good.
  7. A late afternoon solo trip on Chickamauga Lake. Fishing for largemouth but they were a little tight lipped. I did get a nice smallmouth out of the deal on my way in around 5:00 pm when I decided to make one last stop. I caught it on a secondary point on a blade bait. Water temperature 43-44 degrees. I'm ready for some warmer weather.

  9. I started out in chocolate milk and drove my boat far enough to find some clearer water. Once I could see the prop on my big engine in the water I was satisfied and started fishing.
  10. Cold...high...and muddy water on Chickamauga Lake in Tennessee over the weekend. A few bass noticed my Bomber Flat "A" in Fire Tiger color. I got lucky and hit one in the head with it I think. A pretty good bass but better days ahead.
  11. Lipless crankbaits worked well on a very windy Thursday afternoon on Chickamauga Lake. I got 4 bass in the boat...but lost 3. I caught 4 different species including a scrappy little smallmouth. I used a plastic worm and swim jig for a short time but the lipless crankbait seemed to be the best pattern in the wind. I'm not in a "groove" with the big bass yet as I've spent a little too much time crappie fishing. Water temperature was 68 degrees with some fish as shallow as 3 feet - it's spawning time. A fun afternoon with some good action. Pics are thumbnail size for some reason ??? I know the fish weren't that small - haha. Just have to click the pics to enlarge.
  12. Nice fish - great report.
  13. 5.1 pounds...
