  1. You need to find fish that will hit it the bait on the fall and try to get some practice with them. I still have a hard time telling when I get a light bite in heavy cover.
  2. In winter I try to get out in the afternoon after the sun has had a chance to warm things up for awhile.
  3. Wow that was great!
  4. Flukes are about all that I use. I will use a slug-o when the wind picks up. I think that they are a little heavier.
  5. Nice looking bass! Nice to hear someone is still getting out.
  6. I tend to start thinking about what baits have worked on other lakes instead of thinking about what will work on the lake I am on now.
  7. Now they are saying it was faked.
  8. I wonder if the eagle thought the baby was some sort of small animal?
  9. Revo-S. Senkos are heavy enough that you shouldn't have any problem casting one.
  10. I fish them all year. Try dead sticking them.
  11. That is how we used to fish for catfish many years ago, but not with light tackle. We used to use 20# line, a one ounce weight, and a heavy hook.
  12. LOL, that is a good one!
  13. I think that a lot of times we get into the mindset of that's good enough, or we get in a hurry and don't tie the knot correctly in the first place. For me, if I don't feel comfortable with the knot I cut it and retie again.
  14. I have caught bass while having a leader tied on and without a leader.. IMO, I don't think there is a right or wrong way. If you are not having any luck tying directly to braid, try a leader.
  15. X2. This time of year brown crawfish is a killer around here.
  16. Swim it weightless through vegetation, or as a jig trailer.
  17. I store them just like any other bait. Just make sure you take the trailers off so the hook doesn't rust, and let the skirt dry out.
  18. I have a lot of Zoom baits, but if it looks good I will buy it.
  19. I call it quits for a while when the water freezes over. Then I get back on this site and re-read everything about winter fishing to make sure that I haven't forgotten anything.
  20. I like fishing in winter. I have the lake to myself, and don't have to worry about the summertime crowd.
  21. Who is going to be Wonder Woman???
  22. I think the bait monkey has met his match.
  23. Like BlueBasser said he is still your Dad. Had the same thing happen in my wife's family with her Dad. My bro-in-law and my Father-in-law hadn't spoken in 7 years when he passed away. At the funeral there was still a lot of anger and bad feelings inside my bro-in-law that you can still see today. If nothing else you can have a clear conscience about seeing your Dad and talking to him.
  24. Lets not forget that Santa's bag would have to be properly tied down to the sleigh, and he would probably be required to carry a manifest.
