  1. Congrats on the new pb!
  2. Glad you had a good time. That is a nice bass!
  3. Phone goes into my pocket, and I only look at it for the time or to make a voice recording to help me remember something.
  4. 1. Some snacks, water, 3 to 4 rods/reels, tackle bag with 5 370 boxes plus zippered pockets. 2. I carry everything in car with me, except rain gear which is always in the trunk along with rubber boots. 3. Cooler usually has a sandwich and some energy bars or snacks. 4. It takes one trip if I am fishing out of a boat. If I am fishing from the bank I will carry my tackle with me and leave the cooler and water in the car. 5. No problem to carry everything.
  5. Nice Fish!! Thanks for the pics.
  6. For senko style baits I use different shades of greens.
  7. I guess I was about 9 or 10. We had some wood stacked up in the back behind the shed that had gotten ants in it. I decided to burn the ants out so I started a small fire in the woodpile. After a while with the fire just smoldering I decided to push some of the wood around in the pile. Well when I did that the fire got some air and took off. Luckily there was a garden hose nearby and I was able to put out the fire before it got into the shed. Since I am still here I can pretty well guess that my parents never found out about it.
  8. You and your Dad did alright! Thanks for posting the pics!
  9. Glad you all had some fun! Watch out that Disney rig is sure to catch the largest fish in the lake.
  10. I can usually only fish on the weekends so I never really look at it.
  11. Once the bait is on the bottom I lift the rod from about 10 to 12 and then lower it back down to 10. A good way to do this is get a watch with a second hand on it. Count out how long it takes the second hand to move from 10 to 12. That is how long it should take you to raise the rod.
  12. I have used Yo-zuri, BPS mono, Big Game and Trilene XL. I like the Yo-zuri and Big Game the best.
  13. A lot of the lakes that I fish have heavy pressure on them. Even with a leader I have found that while braid is nice for fishing in the weeds it tends to spook the fish in these lakes.
  14. I don't really have a problem with losing fish with lipless baits. I just really sharpen the hooks good before I use the bait. I also like to use a rod with some backbone like a med. heavy or heavy.
  15. Reminds me of a moose!
  16. I have never seen covers like that. Did you buy them or have them made?
  17. I have been spooled by a fish before. It seems like on a boat the line would wrap around the prop.
  18. I haven't fished as many this year as in the past. Probably around 8 to 12 lakes and ponds.
  19. I really started fishing flukes last year after reading about them on BR. I like to use a weightless 3/0 hook with a Super Fluke, and let it sink on its own.
  20. You had a good day despite the weather. Sorry to hear it's the end of your season.
  21. Way to go. 8 pounds is a good fish.
