My Dad. During the summer, when I was off from school, he use to call in sick and we would go catfishing. Later on he got me into bass fishing.

lilly pad techniques
Depending on the depth, you may be able to pull the boat into the lilypads and try to fish them vertically.

Quick Touch Up For Cranks and Jigs
Anyone ever use fingernail polish for a quick touch up job? I have heard this from several people and I was wondering if it really worked or not.

Drop shot weights
I just use a split shot. I just don't clamp it down so tight that it won't pull off if its snagged.

Your local tackle store
Also there is Paul's Bait and Tackle down in St. Louis and there was a Gateway Outfitter right off of Hwy 70 at Cave Springs on the right. Sadly I think Gateway was looking for a buyer. I guess it was just too close to the BPS and Cabela's.

Old Timers Round Up Part 2 Deep Water Fishing
A lot of the lakes around here are at most 20 to 25 feet deep, if that. About 30 years ago the fishing lakes were open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and closed the rest of the year, which made for some very heavy pressure. If you got to the lake late in the day you couldn't get the boat close to the bank because there would be a boat in the way or someone fishing from the bank. We started fishing out in the middle and discovered that we were catching when the ones hitting the bank were not.

Superstions?
My fishing hat is a summer hat. When it starts getting cool out I wear a different hat, but I bring my fishing hat with me in the boat just to be safe.

Bifocals
I just got my first pair on Saturday. Its a real trip, especially when I look down and try to walk at the same time. The guy at the eyeglass center said it would take two or three weeks to get use to them.

Does anybody else use bps hooks
I have some of the EWG hooks that I bought three or four years ago. I have had no problems. My Dad on the other hand bought some last year and he has had several break in two while removing them from a fish.

snap swivels with crankbaits?
X2 I always use snaps for crankbaits. IMO, it gives the crank more action.

Monster Bass Or Numbers?
For one single day I would rather catch a monster. I'll take numbers if I just can't find any hawgs.

How bad has your cabin fever gotten?
My wife told me that if I say "I want to go fishing" one more time then she's going to have me committed.
