  1. When my wife and two girls ask me what I want for Father's Day and my birthday I always tell them GIFT CARDS. They tend to buy reels, rods, and lures based on how pretty they look.
  2. I would try a t rigged weightless worm.
  3. Watermelon Candy, black grape, watermelon seed, pumpkin/chart. and green pumpkin.
  4. Storm Wiggle Wart Storm Sub Wart Cotton Cordell Big O
  5. Bill Lewis Rat-l-trap 1/2 and 1/4 ounce sizes Cotten Cordell Super Spot 1/2 and 1/4 ounce sizes The color I use depends on how deep I will be fishing and how clear the water is.
  6. I have been averaging about 3 fish a trip, more if you count all of the ones I have missed .
  7. Had this happen this past weekend. Bright and sunny all last week and a heavy rain on Friday night. Saturday the bite was off. I think that it changes what they feed on due to the bugs and worms that wash into the water.
  8. If you have two reels that are the same in every way except weight then try switching reels. That 1/2 oz. can make a whole lot of difference.
  9. You can find a kid that likes to fish and give him a great present.
  10. I bought a Bionic Blade for crankbaits and spinnerbaits but I wouldn't use it for jigs and plastics.
  11. Start practicing with a 3/8 practice plug or heavier. Don't try for distance at first, just work on getting the plug out without a backlash. Tighten the knob on the side down so that when you hold the rod level the plug slowly drops down.
  12. Just put on the rain gear and keep on going. I have also found out the hard way that it is a good idea to keep a scoop in the boat in case of a real heavy downpour.
  13. The prices haven't made me change where I fish, but I have changed the way I drive there.
  14. My dad bought one when they first came out and had the same problem.
  15. Make sure that there isn't anything behind you that the hooks can catch on when you bring the rod back. I've never had a backlash as bad as when I hooked a bush in back of me when I was casting out.
  16. I picked up a 6'6 BPS Bionic MH over this past Father's day sale. I started off with a Abu 3600 black max on it, but that was too light. Recently I put on a 5600C4, and I am able to cast crankbaits from 3/16 to 1/2 ounce without any problem. I was really surprised that this new set up could handle baits that small.
  17. I don't like to use other people's tackle, especially crankbaits. I am always afraid that I'll hang one up and lose it.
  18. I gotta go with the plastic worm. I've caught bass in 3 feet of water on a 98 degree day, and bass in 15 feet of water when the high temp was 42.
  19. Sometimes I tie direct and sometimes I use a snap. It depends on how many crankbaits I brought with me and how much lure changing I am doing.
  20. I have all Abu baitcasters right now. (1) 5000 (1) 5600C3 (1) 5600C4 When these wear out I'll either look at getting some Shimano reels or the Abu Revo.
