  1. If only all reels were as simply designed as Abu's C series.
  2. I'm enjoying your perpesctives on what is cold... I woke up this morning to -28 degrees! As I won't be bass fishing anytime soon, I'll continue to enjoy these discussions.
  3. BassBandit... did the leather palm absorb water?
  4. I'd like to know what size hook is used in the Evolution Shakey2 jig. Thanks
  5. I think Rolo has it pretty well nailed... Though I fish a grub before a tube in most smallmouth situations.
  6. The grass usually looks greener... On the small lakes you are talking about I'd keep the pontoon.
  7. The transducer shaft will create significant drag on a canoe (been there)
  8. Of course EASE is a relative thing.
  9. Revo S (has centrifugal braking)
  10. Did you pay new retail price? Is the reel working as expected from a new reel? How is the handle different from what you expected and how does it change the reel performance? Buying it unseen... buyer beware (and lower your expectations to a real-world level). A seller, per Ebay's rules should always describe the item he/she is selling 100%! If misleading a buyer about what you are selling is okay to you than i would not want to do any kind of business with you either! Nope, it's not OK... I don't shop Ebay, only brick & morter where I can see the product and the seller! For those that do, don't cry if you get scammed.

  12. The lighter method has worked for me quite satisfactorily.
  13. MH spinning rod with mid-sized spinning reel that has over-sized drag and sturdy anti-reverse bearing! Try spooling it with the new Fireline braid in 15 lb test.
  14. The Revo SX does not have the infini-spool which the Revo STX model has. I believe this feature of the STX improves it's efficiency when pitching and marries nicely with magnetic braking. I, however, prefer casting with the REVO S and it's centrifugal braking. I think you need both the STX and S models.
  15. I would try fishing shallower.
  16. The Revo STX is a very good pitching reel... I prefer the Revo S when casting.
  17. There is a difference between slider fishing and just using Brewer Slider jigs... but to answer your question... yes.
  18. Any bass hook can be filed barbless (it makes a good wintertime project). I guess I politely beg to differ about the damage done comparing barbed against barbless hooks. I have no interest in tournament fishing.
  19. Heavier jig head or use a superline are two other options.
  20. A thinking man would let her use your least favorite rod. If/when she breaks it you'll be in position to sympathetically reply "That's OK honey, accidents happen. I'll get another one." Then UPGRADE!
  21. I have fished with Fitover brand shades over top of my Rx glasses for many years. Two years ago I bought a new pair of Cocoons to put over top of my glasses because my 10+ year old Fitovers were starting to show some lens scratching. After a couple of months wearing the Cocoons I bought another pair of Fitovers... The lens on the Cocoons were not as clear (visually sharp) as the Fitovers. Your mileage may vary.
