  1. Forgive me if this has been posted and I missed it... Cashion rods has released a new rod with both a casting reel seat and a spinning reel seat. What do you think?... oe
  2. Yellow, blue, red & unpainted (1/16, 1/8, 3/16 & 1/4 ounce) in my box. I just paint the lead collar. oe
  3. Owner Twistlock light wire -- 3/0, 4/0 & 5/0... piece of nail weight if I need more depth oe
  4. Caffeine Shad (or other fluke baits) oe
  5. I fish a sparsely tied rabbit/marabou jig in the early spring and late fall but not so much during the warmer months. I switch to a rabbit dressed leech pattern tied to a straight hook used drop shotting and a bou-tube (marabou dressed tube jig inserted into a 3" thin walled tube with the tentacles removed). I get better casting distance and depth with these baits and everything swimming in my lakes eat them... oe
  6. if you fish those red hooks in shallower water the red color won't fade as quickly... oe
  7. Zorro Aggravator short arm oe
  8. hmmm, didn't think I was pitting one video against another. All of his suggestions held true to my lakes. oe
  9. Thanks A-Jay... I'm not certain what is allowed and what isn't in linking vids... oe
  10. Matt Stefan's YouTube vid "5 Things You Need To Know About Smallmouth" is worth the 9 1/2 minutes of viewing (and maybe reviewing)... oe
  11. Considering the "April 1st" tom foolery orchestrated by Berkley, I can see why you might take this in that light. I'm only, however, passing on my personal experience with this bait after having used it for awhile. Bass fishing for recreation gives me a different perspective than if I was fishing to consume my catch as I would with walleye. I'm certainly not advocating avoiding MaxScent, I find myself using it more often, but as I wrote above, I'm going to be more cognizant of protecting the bass from deep hook damage. Best of fishing to all... oe
  12. Zorro Aggravator short arm spinnerbait... oe
  13. ... just a quick personal warning to those of you who may be currently using or thinking about using Berkley's Maxscent soft bait. I've been experiencing much deeper than usual hooking when using Maxscent. This is comparing to other soft bait I use, such as, PowerBait, Rage Tail and other branded soft plastics. I'm going to be filing the barbs off hooks and jigs that I'll be dressing with any Maxscent baits and suggest you consider this as well. Feels pretty lousy to know the 3 pounder you just released will most likely die from being so deeply hooked... oe
  14. If I accept the above to be accurate, am I right to believe that "our" colors yellow and white still differ to some degree in hue or vibrancy to the bass? oe

  16. I follow Randy some, don't get to the end of many clips. I enjoy Matt Stefan's clips as well. Panda... Those are some pretty "un"- woke comments. You're due to be cancelled... oe
  17. Amber colored Fit-overs in all light conditions (short of darkness). One pair in the boat and a pair in each car. About $50 - $60 a pair when I last needed to make a purchase. oe
  18. Tom... you're painting with a very large brush. I've been playing with a variation of the Neko rig referred to as the "little child rig". Seems to have promise for my smallmouth fishing without some of the Neko & Wacky negatives. oe
  19. I still throw a Frenzy Popper and Storm Subwart even though they've been discontinued for years. When I lose them I may shed a tear, but I won't replace them in my arsenal till they're gone. What discontinued baits are you stubbornly still throwing? oe
  20. Whether you need felt soles or not will depend upon what the bottom composition you'll be wading in is. oe
  21. I haven't fished MaxScent head-to-head with PowerBait, but I've been successful with both. oe
  22. Pflueger Supreme... worth a look oe
  23. What color is "bluegill" oe
