  1. I suggest you give up slip-sinker fishing altogether and buy a few jigheads, 1/8 - 3/8 oz heads with 2/0 -4/0 hooks. Some people will refer to these as "shakey head" jigs. I'd buy a few that you fish hook exposed and a few you can tex-pose the hook. Drag/hop/swim them near bottom. You're welcome. oe
  2. I'm usually happy to share what is working for me, and I'm equally happy when that sharing is ignored... oe
  3. small disposable chemical heating pad on each wrist sandwiched between a knit shirt sleeve and a short length of elastic ace wrap (not directly on skin). oe
  4. Booyah Covert series oe
  5. Come on man... play by the rules as outlined in the OP's 1st post above. oe
  6. Frankly I'm good with the rest of the bass world moving on from grubs and am a little reticent about posting my favorite (and recently "only") curly tail grub is a 6" MaxScent Lunch Worm cut back 1 1/2". oe
  7. When I get to having enough baits that I need an "organization plan" I sort through them and give away those I don't regularly use... oe
  8. If you can't keep the attributes of your baits in mind... you're carrying too many. oe
  9. Not one of life's better experiences for the fish either... oe
  10. Gen 2 Premier... best of the Revos before or after. If they are lefty and you find you don't like them, the two I fish today may need friends. oe
  11. Fishermen have been "jigworm" fishing for several generations now... oe
  12. Mr. Aquarium... I applaud the limited thread on your collars oe
  13. without watching you, my guess is you are twisting the ring very slightly... oe
  14. Without a second thought... thin walled tubes, 3" - 4". I often pull every 2nd tentacle off or pull all of the tentacles off and dress it on an exposed hook jighead I've tied some marabou to. I'll try to give credit to the jig tier that turned me on to his "bou-tube" when my brain cycles through enough times to remember it. oe added: Paul.Jensen of Wisconsin was the tier that inspired me with his bou-tube tie.
  15. I'm going to repeat what's been said above... use Texas Tackle split ring pliers. oe
  16. 1/4oz Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips... 14'? Thanks oe
  17. I would counsel you to ask someone who fishes Lake Maloney as lakes differ in what techniques are most effective. oe
  18. I prefer the flex of the bronze heads over the "pro" series. Those need to be set and played a little more gingerly. Word of caution to new purchasers of Brewer heads. The "original jig heads"... those with bronze hooks are notorious for being lighter than advertised. oe
  19. This! From shore I'm perfectly fine fishing only one rod/reel. oe
  20. I think they came about at the same time in different parts of the country. Yes, I've been using Brewer tackle and techniques for many, many years. The jigs work well on thinner plastics. oe
  21. SW Tennessee intrigues me. I'm more apt to want smaller lakes as I retire. oe
  22. I often responded to my children's bad behavior by telling them animals in the wild ate their young for less annoyance... to this day my wife wonders where 4 year old Billie wandered off to. oe
