  1. When beginning the knot, make the loop with the leader, run the main braid line through the loop, put one of your fingers through the loop as you did with the braid and leave it there. Hold all three strands of line above the loop while keeping your finger in the loop and tie your knot. Complete the knot by pulling your finger back out and run the braid tag end through the loop in the same direction you just pulled your finger. Clear as mud, right? oe
  2. 4" - 5" tube bait... oe

  4. I reflect upon my day on every ride home... oe
  5. I fish dark colored plastics on a red jig head from ice out to the mid-60 degree water temp., then return to throwing black or unpainted heads. oe
  6. 3 points when released by hand 2 points if self released after you can see and estimate it's size 1 point if it fights for a bit but isn't seen
  7. As John said... short hand for polyethylene. Dyneema & Spectra are ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene braided lines as opposed to a braided dacron line. Mono (mono-filament) lines should be referred to as nylon or fluorocarbon. oe
  8. When the Albright is tied correctly, tightly and keeps a PE tag end of 1/2" or more, I don't think there is any "gain" to the Alberto knot... oe
  9. I was going with "it's magic"...
  10. PE to either fluorocarbon or nylon mono-filament lines I find a 8 - 10 wrap Albright knot with a 1/2" PE tag to work quite well for small game (bass & walleye) use.
  11. How many strands in the skirt? Full skirt from the factory or thin the skirt out some? oe

  14. That and moving baits are easier to fish in wind. Unless the wind is blowing into "off shore" shallow cover and/or structure, I find the wind has a greater effect on the windward shorelines than "off shore". oe
  15. If you want to catch bass with a jerkbait a la Jacob Wheeler, install a forward facing sonar to the front of your boat... oe
  16. single wire is sufficient, two wires is over-kill... oe added: quite a few guys in this thread who use both a pair of suspenders and a belt...
  17. In my opinion, the only thing daylight savings time does is put our country out of sync with the rest of the world. Time is a measurement of distance. If we want more evening daylight (and I'm OK with that) we should leave the clocks alone but start our "work day" an hour earlier across the entire country. oe
  18. ditto to Dwight's response... oe
  19. I choose my rods & reels based on bait and presentation, not species of fish. oe
  20. I've not been successful using split shot on a drop shot rig. Using lighter weight shots, the dropper line often fouls on the bait above it when cast. Using heavier weight shots, the shot often flies off the light line when cast. Having the weight above the bait as with a wacky rig, I don't have these problems. oe
  21. I'll add a small spit shot on the line above a wacky rig... oe
  22. It disrupts my concentration, consequently I've stopped throwing it... oe
  23. Thanks for the assurance its not a problem I can fix on my end... oe
