  2. I'm going to guess that most of you are like me and don't know what size split-rings are hanging the treble hooks on your baits... For those of you OCD enough to have a preference, what size(s) and brand ring do you like. oe
  3. How does that bait's action differ from a Pointer 78? oe
  4. What is throwing me is the 9649 is listed as a bronze hook, where as, I thought Pointers were sold with black nickel hooks... oe
  5. Is VMC #9649 the replacement hook of Lucky Craft Pointers? oe
  6. How many of the major bass pros have never won a "pro" tournament? oe
  7. ...so how do we limit this internet post to Knoxville, TN?
  8. Not me... and I don't use the gutter bumper guards when I bowl either oe
  9. Your memory is good. The "goofy one" you're referring to had an enlarged chest... sort of half crankbait half jerkbait. I've thrown away most of those Frenzy baits I had (slightly blemished), but still have several lipless, poppers and another shallow jerkbait. oe
  10. I think the Firesticks were the 2nd generation baits that were made over seas. The original Frenzy lure family included a walking top water, popper, 1/4 & 1/2 lipless crank, medium & deep crankbait, shallow & deep jerkbait. They were packaged in a hard plastic case not paper backed bubble pack. oe
  11. Bottom lure is small Husky Jerk. Bottom of top pic is LC Flashminnow 95 custom painted. Several years ago I had a custom lure painter paint 6 lures for me. He did a good job with the paint, but didn't strip the lures first and they came back to me much heavier than before his work. The jerkbaits had to be scraped or hung with smaller hooks to suspend. Lesson learned. Top lure is a custom painted Berkley Frenzy jerkbait from the 1st Berkley collection of Frenzy lures that were made in Spirit Lake, Iowa. I spent many evenings building these baits... before Berkley sent production of their hard baits over seas. There was also a deeper jerkbait. Enjoy... oe No modification, pic is deceptive. oe
  12. Let me know when you give up... oe
  13. No question, there will be new jerkbaits purchased this winter... always have been. Several new ones on a list already. Question I have today is should the LC Pointer 65 be on that list. Pointer 78 has been a productive bait for me, but that's been as small as I've carried in the Pointers. I wondering if I should call "good enough" with the 78s or am I missing the 65s... quick reference: smallmouth fishing mid-west natural lakes, perch & shiners make up a large part of the forage. oe
  14. I don't care what color my briefs are, as long as they're MH in support... oe re-branded Scorpion...
  15. Shadow Rap sinks when paused, Shadow Rap Shad rises when paused... is there a consensus of opinion as to which is more effective? oe
  16. The season's winding down and I'm pawing through my tackle and reminiscing. I'm fishing natural lakes with the usually structure and cover, but I never find myself choosing a crankbait presentation... jerkbaits yes, I love them, but never a crankbait. Strange I guess. oe
  17. Please post which snaps magically move the line to directly overhead... oe
  18. ... Maybe a pamphlet available to download. Big print and lots of pictures. oe
  19. This is why you keep several plastic spools your line is sold on... oe
  20. Pointer 78, Flash Pointer 100 & Rerange 110 I'm still looking for my "favorite" deep diving jerkbait, to now it's been the Staysee 90 ver.2, but I'm just so-so on it. oe Additional thought: the "stillness" you're looking for comes from leaving plenty of slack in your line after the snap and don't reel or move any of that slack as that is what will move the bait.
  21. Why don't we throw them all into the same category and realize that each bait will perform differently with different rod actions... Learn to use your individual tools. oe
  22. Interested to see what you come up with! oe
  23. mushroom head oe
