  1. TnRiver46... If you've never eaten freshly caught walleye, I can see your enthusiasm for those warm water bass... oe
  2. It says to on the back of my man card.
  3. Spoonplugger1... good to read your opinion, cynicism and all. oe
  4. The rod designer had a reason to build the handle that length... I'd suggest you use the rod as is for this season and decide next winter if you really want to shorten it and throw the balance and grip off. oe
  5. This... then buy different brand next purchase oe
  6. The distance of my wing span... I've not measured it. KISS oe
  7. I don't think the OP is asking about how deep into the water a blue colored lure remains visibly blue, but about whether a bass is able to distinguish blue as a color unto itself. As has been explained to me, if you would lay 6 baits of various shades of green color and 6 baits of various shades of blue color, a bass would distinguish between each of the green baits but would probably not be able to distinguish a difference between the blue baits beyond the bait's brightness. Said more succinctly a bass will see blue as a color but not distinguish between various shades of blue. oe
  8. There is a search function on this site that can be of great help to you...
  9. Tie on a 1/2 oz spinnerbait and cast/retrieve off a dock for an hour
  10. Trolling will usually get your crankbait deeper than casting will...
  11. Several decades ago I was influenced by a pretty good bass angler who drilled into my head to carry some dark, some light and some bright. Since then I've carried 3 freezer bags of plastics... 1 bag dark (mostly green pumpkin, but it might have a couple black or other dark color I've thrown in for sh*ts and giggles). 1 bag light (pearls and Ayu shades). 1 bag bright ( for me that's pumpkin with yellow). Each bag has 3 or 4 shapes... makes selecting baits for water color/ depth/ presentation, quick and simply. oe
  12. I'd suggest starting at the rod... oe
  13. It's all jig worm fishing... bass fishermen can't help themselves complicating a simple process.
  14. My opinion... exposed hook point is always 1st choice if cover will allow. I have never "Texas rigged", however, I do throw jigheads with offset hook shanks that can bury the hook point as a T-rig does ( Brewer head, Fin-tech Title Shot, as well as, weighted swimbait hooks). oe
  15. Have most of us moved on from the original "skinnier" worm to the "fat" version? oe
  16. You offer sound advice jimmyjoe, and that's exactly why I never buy fishing rods at closing time... oe
  17. I've been using the Fin-tech Title Shot jigs for several years... add your own skirt. oe
  18. nylon & fluoro... Trilene knot PE line... Palomar joining leader to PE line... Alberto joining PE to PE... double uni any line to arbor... uni oe
  19. Everyone should have a roll of duct tape around the house... oe
  20. The little bunny named Alberto popped out of his hole in the morning to play. Alberto hopped to the garden and hopped round and round the vegetable patch. When Alberto had traveled far enough from his home he hopped back to his home and popped back into his hole where he was safe and secure for the entire night. oe
