Finger length of sun gloves
Opinions please: Do you prefer sun protection fishing gloves with no fingers, half fingers or only the finger tips exposed. 2nd. question: Do you find handling baits with treble hooks problematic when wearing these light gloves? 3rd. question: Do you wear these gloves only during the sunniest part of the day or do you wear them at sunrise/early morning and sunset as well? Enough questions about gloves for now. oe

Gear Ratio for small Topwaters
...or you could pause for just a second then continue the same cadence. I frequently get a second hit before I get the bait back to the boat. OP... what does size of bait have to do with reel speed? oe

Had to replace my deep cycle battery
Wow... sorry I spaced this off and never got back to you! It's an EverStart. I bought it at Walmart, but I'm not sure if it's a house brand or not. oe

Spinnerbait Selection, Weight
If I understand your question correctly... adding a plastic trailer to a spinnerbait may help it cast farther, but would also give the bait more lift in the water, fishing shallower. Slow down the retrieve speed or change blades to a smaller size to fish a spinnerbait deeper. oe

Best reel regardless of cost
What's the best reel money can buy?... I've got to believe it hasn't be made yet. This is why your desire is going to be very, very expensive! I prefer finding (and being happy with) equipment that is "adequate" for my needs. oe

Long casts
Given the variety of waters we find across our country (and beyond), it's prudent to add to this discussion long casts can be fruitful "when cover and conditions allow". This discussion by Tom, et al, is a good reminder! It'll be a good read finding how others overcome the obvious difficulty of landing a large fish hooked a great distance away. oe

Fenwick to release a new Techna ?
Don't tell my wife I may have been accurate about anything! Concerning the new Techna rods, I'll consider the jury "out" until they've been fished a little. The new 3M material Fenwick will use in this blank could change the characteristics significantly. oe

Had to replace my deep cycle battery
Replaced my deep cycle battery today... my last one was a group 29 purchased May 2011. I guess I can be happy with 8 years from a single trolling motor battery. Needless to say I replaced it with the same brand/model. oe

Bass attractants... something to invest in?
I did an eleven year stint working in the Berkley PowerBait factory... now I swim off the end of my dock for a few minutes and tonight's supper is only a couple casts from the plate. oe

Fenwick to release a new Techna ?
The Techna AV rods are "extremely" fast actions and I think a little "over" powered. Of the five rods that have a place in my boat, 4 are Techna AV rods (two others have to stay home)... my top water rod is a softer Aetos. I'm not expecting the new versions to have the same actions, but I hope I'm wrong... oe

Favorite Jerkbaits?
I haven't been fishing the skinny cutter as much (at all) this season. Without a weight transfer system they flail on many casts and foul the hooks in the line. oe

Favorite Jerkbaits?
Apparently you're having trouble finding one that catches fish... OP... my box includes LC Pointer 100 & 78, Slender Pointer 97, Silent Pointer 95, Flash Pointer 115, Staysee 90, Rapala X-rap 10, Shadow Rap deep & Jackall Rerange 115. Traded away anything that had Megabass written on it. oe

When the water dirties up a little, or a neck down area between two lakes, or around bridge pilings I can often entice more bites with an orange jighead. oe

Shaky head around rock
My most snag free approach incorporates a light-weight jighead with the line tie coming from the nose of the head (a la Brewer's Spider head); buoyant line (Fireline with a nylon leader); and an upward, hopping, pendulum retrieve; rod tip high, never dragging the bait. oe
