NH, You seem to have a lot of talent. These guys aren't disputing that. They are simply showing you how to better "sell" yourself to potential sponsors. If you listen to their advice you're liable to find someone that will help your fishing "career" along.

I grew up in Virginia, and only got checked by the GW once while fishing. It was the day before my High School graduation and I took a foreign exchange student fishing for the first time. The GW approached us and asked to see our licenses. I showed him my license, but my friend just sat there and gave the GW a blank look. When the GW found out she didn't have a license, he started to write her a ticket, but I explained that she would be leaving the country the next day. He put his ticket book away, laughed about it, and told us to keep fishing and enjoy ourselves.

I've always fished with "cheaper" rods and reels so I could afford to have more set-ups on the deck. But, I sold my boat a few years ago and just fish a few farm ponds now, so I decided to sell of my cheaper stuff and buy one nicer set-up (it's hard to carry 6 rods and reels around the pond). My new Shimano Citaca came today and all I can say is "WOW!!!" I can't believe how smooth that thing is, and I can cast it a country mile! From now on I will fish one or two nicer set-ups rather than several cheaper combos. I'm just amazed at the difference.

11 years in the Lord's Army, and very thankful for the many American heros who have fought for that right over the years.

If we ban SIs we have to ban 21ft bass boats with 250hp motors on the back, and limit everyone to a 12ft paddle boat. It's hard to even the playing field in tournaments, but it just makes it that much sweeter when the guy in the jon boat whips up on the 50 guys in their fancy bass rockets.

It's always good to see a man who appreciates his wife. I hope you both enjoy many years of happy retirement together.
