  1. Congrats RW! Althought, I have to admit that I'm a little dissapointed. I was expecting some balloons or fireworks to appear on the screen or something :-/ ;D As BobK said, looking forward to 10,000 more!

    Great quote!
  3. Thanks for the link Muddy. There are a lot of nice looking knives there, but not "the one."
  4. :oOur very own reelady is going to be famous Congratulations!!!
  5. I borrowed a buddy's hunting knife the other night to clean a deer, and I fell in love with it, but don't know what kind it was. I figured that if I described it someone on here might be able to help me out. The knife was a fixed blade, probably 5 inch blade hunting knife. The thing that set it apart from other knives is that it had a seperate knife (a pocket knife) in the butt of the handle. Both knives were very impressive, and I'd like to find one and purchase it. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  6. Way to represent NC Frogtog! I didn't know they had drainpipes in NY : ;D
  7. Well said. The site has evolved from a "fishing information" site to a "home" site for me too. I sometimes forget about the fishing sections of BR ;D
  8. You're right, you didn't take my comments as they were meant. How can I sound like the superstar athelete that says, "without ME there would be no sport"? I don't fish tournaments anymore, so a better way of wording it would be, "without THEM (BASS and other tournament organizagions and tournament fishermen) the sport wouldn't be as good." I understand your frustrations. We've all had tournament fishermen in their fast bass boats ruin a spot on the lake. There are some that are arrogant and annoying. We don't have to like every tournament fisherman, but it would be ignorant to not acknowledge how tournament fishing has helped bass fishing as a whole. Eastern NC, where I live, is a perfect example of this. Back in 2003 (I believe it was) a hurricane messed up the lower Roanoke River and Albemarle sound. The fishery really took a beating. But BASS helped restock the river and sound and now it's back up to par. That wouldn't have happened if it wern't for tournament fishermen.
  9. Bass tournaments are great for our nation's lakes. Without bass tournaments there would be no BASS. This is important for at least two reasons: 1. BASS is responsible for catch and release being so popular. 2. BASS ia a major (perhaps the biggest) player in helping to conserve and manage lakes. So, without bass tournaments you would probably keep every bass you caught and eat it (along with every other fisherman) and our bass fisheries would suffer.
  10. Just think, they could put O.J. and Vick in the same cell. :-? Nah, it wouldn't be right to put two former NFL running backs in the same cell. :-/
  11. Congratulations on a great finish! Here's my advice: Keep finnishing in the top 5 and the sponsors will come to you Again, great job.
  12. Good use of smileys with that last one ;D

Avid, you threw me off. I'm used to reading posts like that with "bouncies" following
  14. Great fish BP!
  15. I'm a KVD fan, but Skeet is a great fisherman. He's been good for a long time, it just hasn't shown up in the accolades until now. Congrats Skeet!
  16. I agree with cajun, ND seems to be overrated almost every year. Their players also seem to be overrated. I believe this is because ALL of their games are televised nationally. Brady Quinn was a good example of that lasy year. He had a descent year, but not great, yet he was in the Heisman discussion all year. I think that's because the commentators have to have something to talk about during all of the ND games, and Heisman is just one thing to fill the time.
  17. Joez, I hope you take our "bashing" responces as compliments. To be the punchline of a joke is the highest form of flattery on BR. For example, I love preacher jokes (as long as they're clean).
  18. You should apply for a government grant to study all of the needless studies that government money goes toward. I'd say 1.4 million should be adaquate (plus a new bass boat)
  19. Congrats! Your fishing reports are always a good read.
  20. I agree Basshunter, this is some great information about snakes! Thanks guys.
  21. Hey Joez, don't feel bad, that's the same thing I see most of the time too! ;D
  22. If I did a lot of bank fishing in snakey areas I'd get a pair of snake chaps and one of those little snake pistols that they advertise (or at least used to advertise) in Bassmaster Mag. The chaps will most likely protect you from getting bitten. Those pistols shoot a .410 shotgun shell, perfect for a snake.
  23. You took the words right out of my mouth!
  24. I don't know what you're talking about. : I'm a sports fan. I like the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Irvin has always been a model citizen I'm also a Reds fan. Pete Rose didn't do anything wrong :-X ;D Sports can bring out the stupidity in us.
  25. Sorry, not advice, just sympathy. I hope the pain goes away FAST.
