  1. idk abou tthat lake but from what i read and i fish alot of SE ks and they seem to love PB&J jigs keep to the basics man run ur favorite baits and colors see what works and i think u will be more sucessful and just remember u can never go wrong with spinnerbaits and plastics and the trusty jig and pig. i know its not much help man but its the best advice for any new lake.
  2. well been once to that lake with bluebasser86 and we killed it just like he said and loved it i have some pics on my profile u can check out they are all from melver well the smallies anyway its fun and there is alot of them. i would say best in ks for smallies.
  3. you know what i use and its mostly free and thats my wifes fo fo shower scrubby thing once its done stretched out and falling apart its all mine and last for ever and it puts a great scale pattern and if u wanted to its a buck a the local walmart.
  4. I would say tenn. shad is a great color one of my better producers for fish. chart and black back is great for murky or muddy water and it also depends on what brand of crankbaits u have too big fan of luckycraft best ever and a close second is bandits cheap and durable.
  5. I like to throw jerkbaits during the cold months, prespawn, and spawn til the water temps are above 58 degrees but then its cranking time. sometimes i have had an ok bite on a jerkbait and had a feeling to throw a crank and catch some on both but i am a big fan of the jerk early on.
  6. im a big fan of bps beaver or kvds coffee bug i think the scent helps a little and also the classic jig and pig prefer the bps enticer jig even more so my home made jigs i just started to make.
  7. i would be careful on what you fish braid with because it will lose fish for you in the cents that in clear water they can see it. i know guys that throw braid on their crankbaits. but i do love braid myself I use it when fishing in weeds ect. and i do use it for jigs occasionally with a 15lb or 20lb leader. im a big fan of pline its the strongest i found but it is more expensive for mono but braid idk i have fished spider wire for years and i havent had problems with it and i only fish 35 braid. i hope you catch tons on what ever you decied hope the info helps.
