  1. so i have fished aba for 3 years and had some pretty good success as a nonboater. its everyone against every one and our rules are that all nonboaters have the boat for half the day. this happened at stockton lake mo and we started out hit points where my boater wanted to fish and he was throwing the A rig with no success and i was killing the short fish with a xcalibur twitch. so as any angler would do he switched to what he called a stickbait but again not catching the fish i was so we ran to another part of the lake. he had zero fish and i had 3 smaller keepers. he started paralling the bank throwing a wiggle wart and started catching fish like crazy. but he forgot one thing me lol. the only cast he gave me was the ones where he had to back off the bank to miss stumps and rocks. so finally as he backed off the bank i ripped one up in front of the boat and he had enough nerve to tell me hey u see the amaginery line in the middle of the boat dont cross it i laughed cus thats all i could do and finally let him have it and after that i sat in the boat full of frustration. to top it off he told me that if i wanted to catch fish in a tourny i need to get my own boat and be glad that i had the oppertunity to fish at all. i fished out the day when i could and finished 6th place infront of him. that was a laugh but not cool. i told the guy i weighted in behind and he went to the director but she said it was to late cus scales where closed and is this right what should i have done?
  2. agree but also keep into consideration on cold fronts and water clearity and all that kind of stuff too maybe us a lighter line and stuff like that maybe they are finiky now cus the pressure or maybe its time to switch up baits too maybe the warmer weather kept them on the banks showllow and make long cast down the bank so they cant see u. i had this same problem at a local pond i fished wouldnt hit the usual so thats what i did hope that helps also.
  3. he is from ks not far from me he is super cool guy. i went in to a local gun shop to buy a pistol about 3 weeks ago and a guy walked by and i said wait was that chapman and the dealer said ya why. i said no the brent chapman like pro fisherman brent chapman and he said ya thats my brother in law u want to meet him and i said would i? yes i would. so he took me in back and introduced me to him and luckly thats where he stored all his fishing stuff and boat. he was busy getting ready for the classic and still gave a fan the time of day to show him the opperation. nothing crazy but it was quite the experience if i say so. he was already in my favs cus he was a local pro but now he has my respect as a good man also.
  4. Back in college in pittsburg ks me and my roomate where out fishing a couple of strip pits in the area. we went to a local swamp pit that was very hard to walk or get a bout around but luckly we had a old 2man boat. we had all our gear 4 poles each nothing great but proud to have. we were killing the bass it was a shollow marsh with tons of trees and vegitation. spinnerbait was the key til sunset when we started killing it on a buzzbait and popper bite. well i switched from a popper to a buzzbait and not realizing the weight difference i casted about 7 feet into a tree and as we trolled over to it i was rearing back pulling us closer to the tree well when we got close to the tree i saw a ton of spider webs in the tree and told him wooooo and instead of stoping he gunned it. ( i hate hand trolling motors) and instead of grabbing spiders i tried to dodge a limbful. would of worked if i had steping room in the boat. well i didnt and lost my balance and fell backwards onto the rear corner of the boat swamping the rear of the boat and standing it almost upright. well he was in the front and shot him in and i was soaked too but as i came to reality i saw all my rods slowly sinking and i dove in for them and my buddy was just worried about his phone not realizing his rods where gone too. so we spent about and hour with jigging spoons fishing for rods got 3 of his 4 poles but we froze our +++++ off not funny til now
  5. one of my favorites cus i have done it man that made me chuckle
  6. i agree with river rat for the most part wait for the ice to melt. i live in ks and fish alot of local ponds in the winter time and i like a smaller jerbait, shaky head, or a mid size jig. and if u know what side is the deeper side i would stick to that side cus thats where they stack up cus the warm bottoms atleast thats what i have had the most luck on.
  7. looks bigger to me r u sure ur scales right?
  8. nothing better then sticking it to a hawg with a full set on a jig
  9. me and blue basser86 went out to lake lacygne and had about an average day i would call it. we had a hard time at first for bass. guides were freezing up pretty bad until about 9am. so we took a break from bass fishing and snaged several buffalo. we noticed a guy down past the fast water outlet yanking whites left and right pretty much keeping everything but anyways we drifted down throwing rattletraps catching quite a few little ones biggest 8 inches but they were crushing it. fun for a minute but head to a bluff wall where i was throwing a hud deluxe most of the way had one good boil be hind my bait but bluebasser was doing pretty good on the point with a new luckE strike jerkbait and a shaky head serveral dinks but made it nice to catch some green fish! but i didnt catch a green fish all day till the end on a lucky craft jerkbait pointer. but did manage to catch smaller whipper on a chrome and black back rattletrap. not a whole lot of boats but more then i would like mostly crappie fisherman but was lucky enough that one of the stacks started to run about 10 or 11am. dont know if it had anything to do with it but thats when we went to the bluff and started catching green fish aka LMs. i guess bluebasser did have a LM come off that morning throw a storm swimbait at the outlet over the cable into the fast water but not much to look at lol. our biggest of the day was caught by blue throwing a craw colored crankbait maybe 4lbs. we attemted to fish the dam but it was dead all we caught was one white that came off the boat. water temps at the outlet was 56 or 57 and was 50 to 51 at the dam and 57 closest to the main lake and 50 closer to the river. thats about the best report i can give u and im sure bluebasser will add a pic or two of the day and update his cont total of the year.
  10. um i also recall u catching a pretty rock that u thought was a fish for a second

  15. maybe a christmas eve trip? idk we will see
  16. me and my wife always plan on going to the lake of the ozarks at least once a year and it was early june 2 years ago. the first morning was a bit disappointing only one dink on a popper and was really expecting a good buzzbait bite but no. so i decided after the morning to just flip docks all day and only one out of a brush pile at the end of the dock. so day two was a bit better catching 3 or 4 on a buzzbait and a couple more dinks on a popper. so again after the morning i decided to hit some new docks way on the other side of the cove and my second dock i flip i pulled up and felt weight and saw my line move for a couple feet thinking it was to late i set the hook and ways and it felt like the 2lbers i been catching most of the day til i saw it in about 4 feet of water and i started fighting it like the fish it was and after about 5 mins it let me get a hand on it to scoop it in the boat it was just shy of 8.5lbs. the funny thing was i had a new fansy camera phone that i took the picture with and i released it and went back to the house to brag about it and couldnt find the pic so i been trying to find that lady for proof but very nice fish!
  17. yeah kinda like the xcalibur twich baits and the luckycraft pointers but a way bigger price difference i like it
  18. im in sounds like a good ole time!!!
  19. hey blue the master bait out there is a 200 series bandit in a mad cow color you can catch anything you want its magic atleast thats the dream i had last night fishing hahaha!!!
  20. i always heat dip and bake then i just drill it out with a 1/8 drill bit and glue them in with gorrila glue works great and never had an issue and plus your not messing around with the wg hole until its time to glue. i like to glue reguardless even if i feel it pop into place. it give me more confidence but try any of these guys ways and see what you like best
