If I'm cat fishing I do because it passes the time while waiting for my pole to touch its feet. But I will if its slow and thinking about going home.

Right after I put braid of my first baitcaster I must have not tightened the reel all the way to the rod because when I casted, the lure it the water, and my reel hit the water. I just keep pulling the line until the bait caster came up.

I was overhand casting. And my rod and reel is set up for such a light line. It's a bad habit of mine because of bank fishing. And trying to get it out longer

I use poppers and buzzbaits. They are both awesome. I use buzzbaits to cover ground. But if the top water is going off than a popper will be used. It's all trial and error. Can't go work.

I might have snap casted once but that might cause wind knots but not breakage.

I had both times had rat'l traps on them. Could it be the hook slicing them?

Twice today my braid line snap on my spinning rig. Once was a little above the bale and the second time it snapped half way bwtween the first and second rod eyelid. What could cause this.

Powerpro 65# braid for $10 at Walmart.

I fish in muddy /stain at best waters here in northern Va so I don't think I will use a leader but might keep some around in the off chance I fish a clear lake.

Just switched my main line to Berkleys fire line 30# I was wondering of I need to have a leader or not. This is the first time i have used braid. Can someone help me or educate me. And if you do what kind of leader

I use a 6/6 m/f Abu for all my worm fishing and a mh/f for my jigs and spinnerbaits. It's all in the set up and how you fish it or use it when you have a fish on. I think the pros go up one because there are money on the line.

I have a Bill Dance BC for my first one. I like it. I just didn't want to buy a expensive unit and then turn around and hate it. But It is easy to use and not to bad a bird nests now.

I'm new at fishing in muddy waters. Can't see my bait past 6 inches. So I'm wondering if I just fish with lures that make noise. Any help?

I call them Croppie, because I don't want my 3 year old running around saying crap-pie. They tend to pick up bad words a lot better than regular words around my house.

Can you fish them by grass and fallen trees or is it only by lilly pads. I say this because it depends of the water level for me, sometimes I can get to the pads sometimes I cant.
