Finally Started Using Frogs: Both Frustrating And Exhilarating
I'm gonna buy SK's Sexy Frog when I go to BPS this weekend for their July 4th sale. What is a good color? I fish mostly stained water if that helps.

Have I Been Fooled?
I don't think so, I have a Bill Dance Sig Baitcaster combo. It was my first Baitcaster so I didn't feel like spending tons of money. It became my "Go-to" reel/rod. I don't know how much you fish, plus if you take good care of it, it will last. A friend has one but its only a couple of months old, but I haven't heard anything bad about it.

Hank Parker's Tough Fishing Tips!
When the fish aren't biting and I'm getting discouraged, I remember one thing. The one thing is that I love fishing, and just being outside. When I tell myself that, I get refocused and actually start thinking the way I should. Start looking around and watching for things that could help me. And one more thing. Its called fishing. You would catch a bass on every cast, it would be called catching and everyone and their mothers would be out doing it. We are a select few who love this sport.

Tackle Boxes
Since you are a bank fishing man like myself. I would invest in something like a bookbag type tackle bag. Keeps your hands free for fishing pole(s) and a GPS.

What Lures To Use On Each Rod
I have a Bill Dance sig Baitcaster with a 6'6'' MH action rod with a fast tip I have 12# floro on it now. Maybe going to 15#. I like it, it was on sale when I got it from BPS. I mainly use it for everything but small spinnerbaits and a light tackle. I have a Abu Garcia M action XF tip for my normal worm fishing plus I love it for my shakey heads and weightless worms 6# red label floro. I have a Shakespear combo for my topwater fishing. it medium action and suppose to be a fast tip but its more like Medium tip. I actually have to replace the rod, because I just don't like it. It has 8# mono on it. I also use it for spinner baits if I want to keep it close to the top.

What Makes A Good Fishing Buddy
My best fishing buddy is my 3 year old daughter. She wants to do what daddy does. I cast her little princess pole and she reels it in. I also taughter her to hold on to it when she feels a fish on it. Her favorite saying is "Daddy, Whoa I got a big one." She even holds the fish unlike her mother. The song,"She thinks we're just fishing," holds true. She even wants me to buy a boat...Now we just gotta make mommy say yes.

Never even would have thought about that.

Wondering - Jig Trailers
I use GY Flappin' hog 2 lately. They are on the pricey side so when they get damaged, I cut off most of the body and use the claws for trailers. It really makes the jig a lot more beefy.

Question To Big- O And Everyone Esle
Do you get a lot of people saying that it takes them a while to put a Strike king Super Finesse worm on a shakey head jig head? The one with the cork screws on them? Or am I just a bonehead? It just seems like it takes me forever to get them on. But it is a great example of the duribility of them. Do you have a tip or a trick? I always have one rigged up but this afternoon the bass loved them and I had to replace it. One last thing. Tonight was the first time that I used Rage Tail Space Monkey. I love them. I pitched on by a lay down. Well I kind of came up a little short and pretty muched smacked this 4 lb bass in the face with one of the tails. Well, he didn't like that, so he destroyed it. I would had takin' a picture but it took a little bit because the hook was deep in his belly. You guys have an outstanding product and it might be my go to bait now.

Kvd And Pitching Soft Plastics Question
It was a bulk head with I think a 1 foot ledge on top. Nothing too huge.
-
Debate Time
I'm still thinking about it. Maybe if the bass is more active, it will work. But wouldn't fish it fast if the bass are inactive.

Kvd And Pitching Soft Plastics Question
Sounds good.

Snakeheading For The Past 2Days!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had to do this last weekend. Kinda scared my three year old when I stabed it in its head.

Debate Time
I was bored at work and I was searching stuff on Youtube. I came across a tip from KVD. He pretty muched said, that you do not have to fish a shakey head slow. He also said for the most part he fishes it fast. What are your reaction to this? I for one, always fish it slow. Its not a search type lure. I throw it mainly when I know the fish are there and they not active.

Kvd And Pitching Soft Plastics Question
Yesterday, I youtubed a clip and it had KVD in it. The clip was about flipping soft plastics. He said when he does he used mainly tubes and smaller creature baits. He never explained why. The question I want to know is why? Does it have to do with the fact that you shake/move the bait around often so it tends to look more nature. Would a 4-6 inch worm look too unnatural when you move the bait around like that? Any help would be nice. P.S- It's KVD so I will do it, but I would like to explain it better if someone asked me why I would do it. I hate not being able to explain it, plus saying "Because KVD does it," most likely would make me look dumb.

Jig Sizes
I throw a 1/4-1/2 oz jigs for the most part. I fish in waters that have gaps between weeds or laydowns. so if its a bigger gap between places I throw a 1/4 oz so I can kind of jump around from place to place. I use a 1/2 oz jig if I'm surrounded by cover or weeds. But the body of river is stainded green so I mostly use black and blue. Didn't think of useing that color until I came on this forums. Now this place made me a better jig fisherman.

Looking To Create A Buying Guide For Our Members, Looking For Input
I would fish a shimano, but you should gift one to me so I can try it out. Then if I like it I would replace all of mine to Shimano. Just saying.

Where Is The Good Nova Fishing
Planning on going there this weekend. Never been there, so got any pointers?

Fishing With Lizards
I use them right as the bass are spawning and after that I use them hear and there. I know that real lizards eat the fish eggs so bass get highly aggressive when you fish them right. During the summer, I will fish them when I come across the bag when I'm searching for a soft plastic. I don't know why I don't fish them more often. Maybe because I never caught a huge bass with them.

Any Va Members Fish Lately?
I don't know if anyone knows where it is, but I've been doing pretty good on a spot on base. Its on FT belvoir right after you come across the bridge past Walker gate on MT Vernon highway. Nothing to brag about 1-3lbs. But kinda all over the place with lure picks.
