  1. The New River in VA! The New river is always producing big smallies. There are a big smallies in the James River, but not the numbers of big ones like the New!
  2. Seems everyone has some good input. FAT-G can fish!! If you want to target big fish get to know the bodies of water you are fishing.. and to piggy back it is a different mindset! look for those spots that are holding fish and make good cast and a good presentation of your bait. Jigs and a carolina rigged plastic or a deep diving crankbait are good producers. Whether a crank or plastic if fishing structure in deeper water try to always make contact with the structure.. You really got to tune in to what your bait is doing!
  3. Congrats man! always good to hear about a new PB
  4. If you can carry a cooler Marine Metal Products make an aerator systems that can fit in any cooler, it runs on any standard marine battery. It works awesome!
  5. NIce job man!! Love them on a jig!

  8. Welcome to the Board man!
  9. I tend to use Braided line on my jigs.. A good fast retrieve reel like a 7:1.1 works well because you can pick up the line quicker and get those bass out of heavy cover. Also try dragging the jig instead of always hopping it! Hook sets are free.
  10. I like usine a single tail grub, a hollow body swimbait(berkely or manns) and i have had good luck with a swim senko as a swim jig trailer!
  11. A wide array of hard cranks and surface lures work well on stripers. I have found that soft plastic minnow imitations work great for flounder and stripers. A good bucktail jig with a gulp minnow is one of my go to setups! Good luck on the trip, hope to see some pictures!
  12. Nice job man!! good choice on going Ford.
  13. Nice fish man! Thanks for the pics
  14. I am glad i got the e7 and citicas when I did, the new Curados and Citicas are the same styling as the Caenan! Now they are gonna be made in malaysia, dont expect the same quality as the old ones!
  15. Awesome fish man. Thanks for the pics
  16. I would definately read the articles. The jig is a very versatile lure and can put some big bass in the boat.
  17. I've dipped off and on for 10yrs. I started when I was in the military. I don't regret it at all. I have known guys that have done it for 20 yrs. and have perfect teeth. Some days a small dip is what gets me through.
  18. Went out to Holiday Lake this past weekend, fishing was tough. There was a big tourney going on there so it was hard to find spots to fish! The water temp was up around 68 degrees. I fished some fish still holding on their beds but the fishing wasnt as good as i hoped. Anyone fish this lake much that could give some pointers would be appreciated.

  22. i have had experience with the Lews speed spool! They feel very nice in the store, but once on a rod and casting it they totally suck. It was soo much work to cast them and it felt like the line didnt want to come off !! i will probably stick with my citica and my curado! Also i work in a Tackle store so i deal with these things on a daily basis!
