  1. Awesome! Great job
  2. Thanks, Let me call them (Shimano).
  3. I have a Shimano Cricial and the finish is peeling off. Will this ultimately effect the rod or is it only cosmetic? Thanks
  4. Don, I would go with a 48" width. I've got a 1448 and I think it's the perfect size for fishing the lake behind my house. I've got it rigged with decks on both ends (aluminum). It's very stable and my buddy and I are able to move around the boat. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product, hope it helps.
  5. Being that I live in South Fla, I do a lot of saltwater fishing. I use my reels for fishing for bass, bonefish, permit as well as yellowtails. I use the stradics 2500 and 5000. I love these reels and they work very well in both waters. When using them in saltwater remember to wash them down real good.
  6. Catt, I'm with you. Check out my Jon. No welding ;D.

Thanks guys. Peter, I couldn't find that model. JT, what model are they from the link you sent me? Thanks again.

I've got the monkey on my back, it's Chrismas ;D. I'm looking for a set of pliers under $100. I currently have a set of XTools and the cutter is not working as it once did. I'd like something with replacable cutting blades. I saw the Brownings at BPS, anyone use these? Thanks for the help and Happy Holidays
  9. Thanks guys. We were kite fishing with 7" live herring.
  10. My buddy Capt Karl on the left and me
  11. Great job. You must be proud of yourself.
  12. Great articles. Good food for thought.
  13. Thanks for the tips. I'll keep you guys posted and sent some pics of the process.
  14. With the holiday season here, the curbsides will be filled with Christmas trees. I plan on dumping a few in my lake (backyard). What's the best way of keeping the trees from floating away :-[? I heard that some should be upright and others should be layed down. Should they be placed close to drop offs, near shore lines, in deap water...? Any help would be great. Thanks
  15. I didn't weld any of the mods on my boat. I used 1/8" rivets on the sides. Here's a picture of the sides. You can get the lower gauge aluminum at Lowes or Home Depot.
  16. I was told by a freind that the water temperature of a lake, at dawn, is warmer at the bottom rather than at the surface. Is this true and if so are you guys targeting the warmar water in the morning? Thanks
  17. Anyone know where I can get the manual for the Bass Pro XPS Onboard Battery Charger? Thanks
  18. What, I live in West Miramar. They came at a good time. My lake has a good number of 5lbers and up. They'll probably stay busy eating a ton of sun fish.
  19. I've been fishing the lake behind my house for over two years and this is our first Peacock. This changes everything. We have been waiting a long time for this day. We don't know if this was stocked but who cares, they're here ;D.
  20. LBH, That's not completely true. Only the ones that come up can see that red ;D.
  21. Thanks. By day I sit behind a desk and by night I start projects like the one shown here.
  22. I used 1/8 aluminum for the floor and I secured it with rivets. I didn't foam mine but I would think that if you foam it, you will be better off. Here are some pictures.
  23. Thank you so much. I was just reading through a few article and this is just what I'm looking for. I'm going to see if I can find something for Florida. Once again, thanks.
  24. I live on a private lake which is managed by my Home Owners Association. If you guys know anything about these HOA's is that the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Since I've moved here (1 year ago) I was able to find out who sprays for the Hydrila and how to get them out here when it gets bad. I want to manage my lake with the help (funds) of my HOA but I don't know much about this. Has anyone ever managed a small body of water or do you know of any good books that will help me have a very health lake? Below is an aerial view of the lake (it's the one that zig zags and my house is where the yellow square is). On the bottom section you will see a marsh area which has recently been over grown with weeds. Thanks for the help.
