Wiring Two Batteries
Hello Everyone, I just set up my two batteries on my project boat and I want to make sure that I'm set it up correctly before connecting my trolling motor. My Motorguide is a 12v. I have the two battery's running to an A/B switch and each is grounded to a grounding block. I ran 6 gauge from the "COMMON" on the back of the switch up to the trolling motor. My freind put the switch on "BOTH" and he claims that the total output is 12v's. Would it be OK for me to run the motor on both or do I need to run one at a time? :-? I hope you guys can help me. Thank you

Mounting Trolling Motor
I have a Motorguide foot control trolling motor that I plan on installing soon. It would be more convenient for me to install it on the right side as apposed to the left. Is there a difference? And if so, what can I expect? Thanks for the help.

Water Level
We just got a lot of rain these last couple of days and the water level went up about a foot. This has added some depth to the spawning beds. In my lake there are two major sections; #1 the lake that has about 4-6 feet that extend from the shore line and then it drops off to about 12-16 ft and #2 a marsh area thats about 1-4 ft. Last year I saw most of the spawning beds in section #1 but lately have been catching a lot more fish in the marsh. Should I see the fish moving back into the old spawning area (are they creatures of habit)? This is an areal view of my lake/pond, the area on the bottom is the marsh.

how old are your hotspots?
My hot spot sits in my backyard and it's about 6-7 years old. My buddie and I would sneak in on his Bass Tender and catch a ton of fish each time we went out (50-80 fish avg). My buddie caught his PB 8.5 lbs right in front of what is now my home . Last year, our last trip out on the pond/lake, produced two 5 lbers. I can't wait to see what this year brings with the stuff I've learned on this site...Thanks .

biggest bass youve ever caught?
My largest was 14 lbs. too bad he spit my bait just before I got him in the boat ;D. Last year he was 13 lbs. but this is a new year.

Bass Tech Jon Boat
Mike, That's what I'm looking to do. Great job. How about a list of supplies used? That is a beauty ;D

Bass Tech Jon Boat
Anyone know where I can find some pics of that jon boat? I'm thinking of taking on a project like that :-/ or maybe finding a 16' Tracker with a bad engine and rip the console off (can't use power on my lake).

Where Is The Best Bass Lake?
X marks the spot. Here's a birds eye view of what I think is the best lake. The red dot is where my house sits. We have two areas to fish, the lake and the marsh area. A normal day will produce at least 40 fish. Largest fish was 8.5 lbs and we has a two 5 lb day last month. You guys are more than welcome to come down, just give me a ring. This is located in South Fla. http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.aspx?T=1&S=11&Z=17&X=1416&Y=7182&W=2&qs=3961+sw+145+ave%7cmiramar%7cfl%7c&Addr=3961+SW+145th+Ave%2c+Hollywood%2c+FL+33027&ALon=-80.3394103&ALat=25.9731023

They're right there but they won't bite!
Keep on throwing different stuff. The same thing happened to me yesterday. I was looking at about 5 bass just watching everything go by. Some would come up to the bait but no hits. I threw 5' senko in a watermelon color, KVD jerk bait, small watermelon jig, shallow shad rap in a hollogram color and my buddy got them to hit a smoked color 5" senko. You never know.

Stained Water
Thanks for the tips. I'm going out on Monday morning and I'm keep you posted on how I did with the jig.

Stained Water
I didn't mean to turn this into a science project but you are correct, I do want to know what to throw. In 8-10 feet of water with 5 feet of visibility, would you throw the same color worm as you would a shallow crank bait?

Stained Water
If you guys don't mind, I would like to take it one step further. Let's say that I'm fishing in 8-10 feet of water and I can see my bait down to 5 feet, would you say that the water is just as stained the rest of the way down or does it become more stained?

Stained Water
I've been reading here for a while about stained water and the different colors that should be used under different conditions. Since I believe that what might be stained for some might not be for others, how do you determine how stained the water is? Do you see how deep you can see? Example; How stained would you consider the water if you could see your bait at 5 feet deep?

Tips for a new bass fisherman
Buy good equiptment. I recently got back into bass fishing myself and I upgraded to better equiptment a few months back and feel that the money I spent on my first couple of rods and reels was waisted. Good luck and have fun.

Spring Break Ideas?
I would come down to South Florida. You can kill two birds with one stone (Largemouths and Peacocks). If you've never caught a Peacock, you are in for the fight of your life. Peacock fishing is a must do. Good luck on your trip and have fun.
