  1. I believe the guy you are referring to is Bill Yingling. He went by "Dry" for Dr Yingling. Miss his posts! Another fan of the chillee willie is a great Susquehanna River guide, Chris Gorsuch. It's one of his go-to's for winter smallie fishing.
  2. @NorthernBasser, curious about the flapper grub. Better action than say the Zoom Fat Albert? Would also like your thoughts on the paddlin beaver.
  3. I'm gonna try the River Rock helgripede. Thanks for sharing. I have used the Arkie Salty Crawlin' Fry. They are 4.25" I use them full size, pinch an inch off, and cut them in half. They have produced well for me.
  4. I'm thinking the Chibeeble blade will push water and cause the spinnerbait to hunt side to side somewhat, less chatterbait effect. Haven't put it in the water yet but will try to remember to report back once I do. Curious to know how the chatterbait blade on front of your spinnerbait reacts.
  5. I haven't used them, just helping identify. From the website link: "Eagle Claw Bottom Bouncers are popular for use when targeting walleye. Bottom Bouncer rigs put your bait presentation close to the bottom and often produce fish when all other trolling techniques fail. Bottom bouncers are often used with a non-stretch mainline braid and a long fluorocarbon leader with a crawler harness or minnow rig."

  7. Kinda sorta I'm thinking. A couple of the guys on here, can't recall their name without looking back at posts, swear by them. They go for around $18 retail so I thought I'd try my hand at making one. This is a picture of the Bottom Up Chibeeble
  8. My reason for making this one. Drilled a hole in the other side of a #3 willow. I thought it slid around too much and the reason for the sleeve and backer on the bottom wire. I have never held or bought an original, just going by pics. Hopefully it works, haven't tried it yet.....
  9. Daiwa Evergreen Gizmo Floating Jig. Was sold out everywhere after that video came out.
  10. my attempt at making a Chibeeble spinnerbait. Silicone sleeve and earring backer on bottom wire to keep blade in place
  11. HAHA.....Naw, thankful that @NorthernBasser shared the deal.
  12. 3 real craw squarebill and yes, 2 bluegill MD Wanted to get a couple of the ghost bluegill squarebill but they were out. Found some good reviews on these as well.
  13. I'd retire the Big O and fish the worms.
  14. Yep, at that price I ordered a couple of each. Thanks for sharing!
  15. This appears to be the camo color. TW doesn't carry it and hook up tackle is sold out.
  16. Stanley Vibra Wedge and War Eagle screamin eagle for mass produced. I like the hidden weight spinnerbaits for smallmouth from small business, 1/4oz profile, 1/2 oz total weight from Snagler Tackle Company & Sick Custom Baits, .031 Battle Baits, homemade are .035
  17. On sale at TW right now $6.98
  18. Got a couple packs of the Hyper Spiders also. Hoping they'll be smallmouth candy, the crazy flappers are!
  19. Agree, blade needs to be concave up. Also can't tell if it's on a clevis in the pic. Put it on a clevis.
  20. Interesting bait I found on Amazon. Ned or trailer
  21. I use also and like them. $12.88 on Amazon right now.
  22. I use the Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails. I put on a light coat, roll the glitter between my thumb and pointer finger over the blade. Let it dry in a few minutes, tap off any exess glitter that didn't stick, then another light coat of Hard as Nails. I've found fine glitter at Walmart and Dollar Tree. I've also found some glitter finger nail polish at these same stores. I'll put a coat on, let dry, then top coat with Sally. Purple is a hot color for me as well. I'll take a white blade and coat with some purple finger nail polish. Found some that has blue specks in it that looks and works great. One or two coats to get the depth of purple I want, then top coat with Sally. Barlow's had white willows and colorado blades on clearance recently and I bought a bunch for just this reason.
  23. Yep, find the wintering area. I'll throw small profile jigs. Nikko leach, 2.75" tubes, small profile craws work for me. I'll throw out a jerkbait and just let it swim behind the boat while I'm fishing my plastics on the bottom. SLOW on the plastics. I'll move them with the reel and not the rod. I tend to move them too far by lifting the rod. Keep slack out of the line, often the bite is mushy. Any difference you feel in the bait, set the hook. @Scott F, good info!
