Ok guys I am going to Nubanusit today in Hancock. I know it's good smallie lake. Looking for some advice as to where to go and how should I be approaching it. Was thinking a Carolina Rig dragged on the bottom. I know it's a deep lake. Any suggestions?

Hopefully my medical clearance works out haha. 3 of my uncles have been Marines gotta keep the bloodline running. Deer Hunting is another passion of mine, but I think I am only gonna do gun season this year wanna focus on catching the big boys when the fall turnover comes.

Did Mill pond in Nashua today. Funny thing is I read Nev's post on where the fish might be when I was on the pond haha I went down towards the opposite end of the ramp and fished the right side where the steep banks run off and I got into a huge fish, but he pulled into some brush and spit out my 10 in worm. After fishing there for 3 hours I switched it up and headed over to the Mines Falls ramp for the Nashua River. Holy hell that was a mistake so much slop it was hard to even fish not to mention paddling was tough. I did end up catching one bass though he was about a 1.5lber it was quite the slow day, but for the first time being there it was interesting to learn.

Gonna go fishing today on my day off finally. Looking for somewhere that I know I'll have a good chance of getting my personal best today. Any suggestions? Will be heading out within the hour after I stop by and talk with my recruiter.

Ok quick question to anyone that likes fishing Texas Rigs. They are absolutely my favorite thing to fish hands down. I want to increase my size catch and I am willing to go empty handed some days just to get a big bite. I am very proficient with a Texas Rigged rubber worm. If I was to really target big fish with this bait what would be your recommendations as for size of worm,bullet weight, presentation? Just looking for some good tips.

Took the trip to Highland today my buddy who is back from his 2 year tour in the Marine Corps came with me. Had a good day caught 7 fish all around 1.5lbs the 3 biggest were 2lbs 1oz a 2lber and the biggest which I caught being 3lbs 1oz. There's something about that place that I just love hopefully I'll hook into a big fish soon.

Do you think a Craw rigged Texas style would be just as good as a jig in the sense of going for big fish?

I have noticed the weeds. Usually on Northwood there's at least some kind of lily pads up this time of year.

Well the lakes deepest part is around 22-23 ft. I like to call Northwood the big POOL TABLE because no matter where you drive on that lake you literally are always gonna see flatness. Except for the areas I pointed out to you which took me a lot of time to find, but I am sure they will produce also I would look for 8-10ft range for the bass in that lake that's where I usually catch them. Another tool that worked for me was the Rage Craw rigged Texas style they slammed that.

I'll see you on the lake haha. I'll be up at the camp on Sunday-Tuesday. My best advice would be a texas rigged power worm or some kind of curly tail the bass just love them. The key to North wood is finding the submerged rocks and cover that are out of the ordinary. Most people hit the boy scout camp and the islands and all the obvious places. Don't get me wrong this will catch you fish, but there are some submerged places that you can see on a fish finder that is where the big girls are. My uncle has caught multiple 5lb + on the lake and my grandpa holds the record of 8lbs 14oz. PM me and i'll give you a rough idea as to where the spots are.

Haven't been really able to get out much as of all graduation preparation and last time hanging with friends and all. Also to mention as of Tuesday if my medical clearance goes well I will officially be apart of the USMC. Anyways enough of my spiel, I will probably be going out Sunday on Northwood Lake. Only problem is finding a place to catch shiners. I know of using river dace, but really I think the only place to get shiners is at a store. Unless I am wrong.

Welcome to the forums. My 2 cents if you don't mind using live bait, would be to get some shiners, or even live perch. Then I would free line fish them with just a single hook and cast out as far as possible. We do this off my dock at my camp when we don't feel like going on the boat and it does produce. My uncle one time caught a 6.5 lber off the dock doing this. You just let the shiner do it's thing and it'll produce I gurantee.

Gonna go out today when my buddy gets out of work. Looking to go towards Francestown New Boston maybe a little further that way. Looking for some interesting places to try any suggestions. Worse comes to worse I will go back to where I caught my 5lber.

The place you're fishing looks like somewhere in the everglades haha. I have never seen any cover like that around my neck of the woods, but that is some place you got there.

Ohh I forgot.....did I mention I caught THIS HUGEEEEE BASSSS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Weight was 5lbs 1oz. Shane your gonna love it I caught her on a Texas rigged RAGEEEEE CRAWWWW BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caught these fish today in the rain was quite the day out there, but me and my buddy caught some good ones.

Was out on Northwood all weekend. Had the biggest bass of my life get pf just near the boat he was easily 6lb+ and of course Shane he was on your famous Rage Craw!!!! Haha. Anyways we ended up strangely getting on a school of Black Crappies or Calico Bass as my Uncle calls them. This happened to be the biggest one he caught it on a Rapala Jerkbait.

First pic me and my buddy went to the Nashua River. This was his first bass of the season and first fish in awhile it was about 3lbs little under. The next pic was from today me and my buddy went to Rocky Pond in Hollis and we ended up seeing a school of bass roughly round 2lbs a piece they wouldn't hit a d**n thing luckily though he caught this small mouth which put up a decent fight. Going back out tomorrow after work to the river most likely see if I can find some of the big girls on the beds.
