Anyone got any tips for catching trout this time of year? I wanna try it out with my spinning gear near some rivers around me. Don't really no where to go around here, but I have an idea. What has worked for you guys this time of year I know the water must be pretty cold and I don't know how active trout are now, but it gets me outta the house and who knows I might like it. I will be using my spinning gear so any help revolving around that would be good.

I'll probably be taking a ride up next week or so to clean up my camp and hopefully fish Northwood a bit

Really? I'll have to look into it. Maybe if I have the requirements to go there could be an option. Really hoping I can get into the game wardens what I wanted to do since I was young. Hopefully get into the job. The guy I talk to is trying to get me into a summer internship at Pawtuckaway state park in Nottigham. My GPA isn't all that great though its a 2.3. Should have probably paid attention more in school rather than partying and going out with my friends, learning that the hard way, but trying for the best.

No it's a community college. Central Maine Community College I wanted to go to U Maine , but money is a bit tight. So I wanted a school that was good with what I wanted to do, but also with the college experience so I looked for out of state community colleges with campus living and that was one of my top schools. I am going for criminal justice by the way want to become either a police officer or a fish and game. Heading towards fish and game because my moms co worker is the wife of head of fish and game in NH and he's been guiding me through the process

Yea haha It looked like it. Hopefully I can get on some fish with the jig though I just got work at it it's a little different then your average steady retrieve.

Whelp turned to out to be a day from hell today. All day and yesterday my canoe was fine with the foam blocks and straps all strapped down even break checked it and gained speed and drove down all windy back roads to make sure it was secure. Today I drove with it all fine soon as I got on the high way caught wind flew right off the roof to the side good thing nothing got damaged nor did anyone get hurt luckily everything was ok my car has a little scratch on the side of it that'll have to buff out but other than that it we were fine. Looks like I'll be getting the Thule's better be safe than sorry you know. I did end up going fishing though just from shore at mines falls walked the trails and fished a few open spots got nothing, but it was nice feeling out my bait caster and spinning rod also it was fun throwing the rage craw on the jig love the action it has still learning how to use it though. I fished it similar to a wacky rig jigging it vertical and when I hit something I would give it a swift pop, but I fished it slow as well. Can't wait to get the racks so I can actually get out and fish hopefully catch something haha.

Thanks for the tip nev I will have to try it. Do you think it's safe for me if I go buy myself I have my anchor and paddles or is it too fast to try to maneuver?

Also my roof rack problem I solved while saving almost a 120 bucks. My dad said the foam blocks would do the trick on my car they lift it off the roof a bit and I feel are better than the noodles the ones I bought seem to have more traction and grip on the top of the car which is good. So come Thursday I will be starting my season will be hitting the Nashua River roughly around 1:00 the latest so if anyone decides to go around then maybe I'll bump into yea. My plan of attack seeing how it is going to be warm on Thursday will be to look for any wood cover that will take on the most heat and throw jigs at them. Maybe also if that doesn't work out look for deeper pools that come off the river and hopefully find some pockets of bass. Looking to start the season off well guys wish me luck.

Are you talking about the island that is to the left the tree that just out off that island? I caught a good amount there last year thanks for the info. Is it fairly deep off of the island about 20 yards or so? Seems to me in like June or July the big submerged green weeds always seem to grow off of there and there's fish. Have you ever had any luck going up past the island further down that way?

Hey Nev have you tried fishing at mines falls recently do you think this week would be good to fish it? Got my roof racks in the mail and I am gonna install them tomorrow looking to fish it maybe Tuesday or Thurday when I have off any tips as well as to where I might try?

I have to throw the senkos back in my arsenal for those clear blue bird days. They really do work just find them boring to fish at times haha

Aright guys so I take a Machining class at my High School I have been taking it for 3 years now and I have run out of my own projects to build. So I am looking to see if you guys have any ideas with anything that has to do with fishing that I could make out of metal. I can build roughly anything with metal also I can weld pretty decently so the ideas can be anything. Just wondering if you guys have any ideas as to what I should make that would be fishing realated and useful. I made a canoe motor mount for my canoe already.

How shallow exactly for the Flats and Points?

This time of year. Well meaning April where do you really focus your fishing efforts as to cover and structure and depth of water? This actually goes for any body of water this time of year I never really fish in April so just wondering everyone's tactics as to where to find the good sized bass?
