  1. Will the L&L leave a residue on my reel?
  2. x2 Pulls the bait through the water like nothing at all. Great reel.
  3. I keep all of my rods and reels inside in the winter months. Most of them still have line spooled on them and it has recently been spooled on. Should I take off the line and start fresh come spring? The next question I have relates to line storage. I know that with time line gets old after it has been wet / sun damaged but how about a brand new spool of line in the box? What is the best way to store unused spools of line? I plan on ordering a few spools of 1000yd line in different lb tests and I know that it may take a few seasons to run through these so how long will these last?
  4. Sorry I quoted so many people but for the price of the Yo-zuri I really want to find out how it compares to other line. I used to have 12lb berkley fluorocarbon spooled on my revo winch and I loved it. Though it really is not practical when you have multiple combos. Right now I am using vanish fluoro on my reels because I had it spooled by a friend for cheap. Who does this line compare to vanish or the 100% fluorocarbon?
  5. Sounds like your units work pretty well for you. It is not necessary for me to have a scale , it would just be nice to know the weight of the fish for future reference.
  6. Yeah, I am a broke college student so I would rather get another reel for that price than a grip/scale at the moment
  7. I tournament fish but most of our boaters have pretty good scales. This is more for fun fishing.
  8. Do you have experience with the rapala mini digital scale, seems like it might be off for how little it costs.
  9. Saw this post in a different section after I posted this. Do you like the rapala digital scales ? t
  10. Does anyone have a preferred scale? I want something that can fit in my tackle bag without taking up too much room. I also do not want to spend a fortune but also do not want to get a scale that does no work. I have read reviews in which some smaller electronic scales are off by 3 or 4 ounces. Would a manual scale be better than an electronic? What are your opinions?
  11. I came of kind of harsh. What I meant was sometimes we really do not know as much as we appear to know, I have been on both sides of the counter so I know what it is like.
  12. In my shop bass lures were not the main focus. We can sell them but it is tough to sell lucky craft lures to the casual fishermen. Also soft plastics barely sold except for the well known plastics like senkos. My boss was not going to stock plastics that just wont sell. Most of the guys at work would put lures on the list to stock for our personal use. For instance some yum dingers and colors of senkos would be stocked that sold the most and we used the most as well.
  13. Normally the match the bait line is used when fishing is tough or we really do not know what is hitting where. Matching the hatch normally works in most situations. This year we had a terrible perch season and people would constantly ask about perch and what they were hitting, we cannot say nothing because we need to sell bait so most of the time we would instruct them to target other fish or match them with a bait that is good for perch and other fish.
  14. So true when we sold bait the fish were always biting. Though some people assumed we knew everything there was to know about fishing every single location. I do love when people come in for their first time or with kids for the first time. The best is when I would teach some guys about different bass lures and then I would run into them on my days off catching bass and having a great time at our local pond.
  15. So true, get to know them and they will send in your stuff for warranty with their shipments.
  16. We all have at least one in our area if not we have a big box chain. What is your opinion on them and the people that work there? I worked at a local tackle shop and I want to know how some of the more experienced fishermen feel about the people that work at these shops. I feel like I could offer some interesting insight as well.
  17. I always wondered by the bow section of lund boats are a lot deeper than any other bass boat or even fish and play style boats. It is something that turned me off from lunds except the predator is a lot closer to that of a bass boat. I feel like there is a lot of wasted space. I do not own a boat but it is something I take into consideration. I assume a lund with a deep V hull would be a lot better on one of the great lakes.
  18. I see them all the time in college fishing tournaments since we do not have the same restrictions. But it does depend by tournament. I cannot wait for the day that I buy my first bass boat.
  19. I worked in a bait shop and this was the biggest question by most people wanting to put line on their reel. Go look at this Power Pro line ( at tackle warehouse . com ) scroll down in the description box on the right side. You will see that 65lb power pro is the same size as 16lb mono. Some people would come in and want 10lb braid on a giant spinning reel spool and you can literally fill it up forever because it is as thin as 2lb mono but more expensive. Edit: why cant i post links to tackle warehouse? thats horse ****
  20. I have a 7'mh but i want the rod for flipping and pitching and to be able to use it in thick stuff and open water
  21. Thanks guys I decided to buy 5 zebco 404 combos instead. Gotta love the push buttons.
