Great, thanks. What’s nice about the Spider skirts is one of the tentacles in the skirt is heavier than the rest and you use that to make it weed less. It works very well. Thanks for the replies.

Put out by Cabin Creek Baits. Like a three piece bait. Sort of bought in parts. Sounds more difficult than it really is. Pretty simple. They may be almost out of business. I hope not. Don’t hear of them much or often.

You bring up a good point about the cord length. Easy to make up a 12v extension cord. To cover all bases that will be a must. Easy and cheap to make up thanks.

Guys hope I never need to use one, Hope y’all never have to use one. But what brand of 12 volt units are you guys satisfied with that you have. I just feel the need to keep on in the truck. Hope I never have the need for it. Should have been toting one of these around for a long time now.

I hate having a lot of rods out but I generally have 6 out and ready to throw. (2) crankbait rods more moderate actions. diver and squarebills (2) x-fast action for smaller lighter soft plastic finesse baits. (2) fast action for heavier soft plastics ex. Senkos, larger tubes, craws and worms.

I know this is not frogging but the other day while is was finishing up, I realized I had not thrown a Slider setup or Salty Spider yet this season. They have been around for years. Have always worked well. Those Spiders and components are hard to find these days. Slider worms and jigs are tuff also. Just another old way of doing things. I’ve caught way more Smallies on a Spider Jig vs. the conventional types SK or Stanley style. Smaller profile.

I hope and wish you guys could get a next day delivery on everything you order. I'd like it. Deliveries and stock on stuff has gotten crazy. I think a lot if it is covid related, import delays and lack of workers. It will get back close to normal. Not like before, much will never be like before. But anyway I'll just deal with 2 week deliveries, free shipping charges and whatnot. On a good day I can't run out and get a decent pack of worms or craws, Quality hooks, a crankbait I want to throw, Line I want to use and much more on a local scale. Can seem line a long time out but I know it's coming. I have not buying that much this year. Finding out that I have more than enough stuff. But this winter I'm hoping to score on some unavailable Shimano things I need.

I fish the full cork Premieres and Avids. I’ve touched the Split Grip Exclusives at Cabelas. But never walked out with one. They have a great warranty. BPS and Cabelas most likely take back anything. Try one if you like it. No Premiere or Avid I have is tip heavy.

Heck if you are looking for a fun type get together tournament. I’ll come over. I’m Penna. I don’t kayak, but I’ll need a ramp to put in. Even if it’s trolling motor electric only. I’ll should be fine. No running of my outboard.

Sure I love it. Most of my fishing I do at rivers and lakes is fairly local. A couple of what I call road trips are further away a season. But I’ve never lost any passion for it. Might be growing as I get older. I don’t do much on you-tube and don’t see what an episode of Jimmy Huston fishing a stocked golf course pond is going to do to help me get enthusiastic about going out. But there is nothing wrong about that to get you amped up. I would think like anything else you have to have your head into it. Some times you need to take a break for a few days or a week and refresh your head and mind. Take care of something you may have been neglecting for a while, knock that out and you’ll be amped to fish. Good fishing.

Seem like when I was growing up in the 60’s was a long ways back but in the full scheme of things related to bass fishing it wasn’t all that far back. As to what Bomber as a whole was to my fishing they were clearly fantastic. I have some great patterns in my stash. Fishable stash. But they are down to nothing. I’d like to get spares of some of my older screw tail baits. That’s not gonna happen. Bandit is running a real close second. What TW has these days is nothing. No knock on TW. Just what is available these days.

Over the years I’ve caught a few while Smallie fishing. On light line. They are a handful and then some. They will hit a Rapala and Power Grubs. No doubt about it. I really don’t know about your carp situation. Or the Smallies for that matter. But I’d still like to give it heck. I understand about your fish kill but this can’t be every happening every weekend.

Even though this thread does not sound all that inviting. I would not let it stop me from fishing up there. Something could be figured out to boat something. That place got Greenies up there also. They all can’t be dead.

I have that area on my bucket list of places to come up and fish. Thought maybe a few days up there trying to figure them brown fish out and catch a few nice ones for my efforts. Not into carp or slime. So much for “I Love NY”. The fish kill is a real shame but they are not born at 3 or 4 lbs. where are the 1 and 2 lb. fish. I’m not trying to be funny. Why can’t these fish be caught?

Is this feeling of fish depletement only taking place this year. This season. Like having a bad season or not the norm. Or Slowly been regressing over time?

Rain kicked in here yesterday morning about 7:00. Fished for about 3 hours in a steady rain. Not wind driven, was nice. Ducked under a few bridges just to get out of it on a couple occasions Caught two decent fish in my first rain free hour. During the rains caught two dozen dinks and runts. I’ll take. Nice steady rain.

Can’t tell you much on a squarebill cb lip but the rounded OG Slim lips have held up fine on rock so far for me so far. Either could break. So don’t the clear lexan/plastics one. Fish on and try to not overthink it. It will be fine.

I have no idea what the dog day of august will bring. But mid Atlantic has seen temps for the last 6 weeks of that of August. August might be a better month of temps and water temp come down a bit. Yesterday 8/1 I fished in the 70’s with a steady rain. I loved it. I don’t plan on throwing anything different. I did realize yesterday that I had not thrown a Salty Spider or any Slider setups this season yet. Common part of my fishing. I’ll dig those out for my next trip. But they are not related specifically for my August fishing.

Yesterday was by far the biggest numbers day on the river for me this season. I want to believe it’s coming back around some. But a lot of healing needs to be done. And it has a long way to go. Can only hope it is going a positive direction. My two biggest fish were largemouths 15 1/2” and 17”. I realize it doesn’t sound impressive but my situation is far from picture perfect world class bass fishing. My switch to soft plastics and slowing things down is why I caught these. Zoom Shaky Head fishing. Caught a mixture of close to 30 Brown and Green fish 12” and under on tubes, grubs and crankbaits. Downfall of my outing was my first hour was dry and fishing a piece of glass. Fished about 3 hours in a steady rain. God send with no wind. But they kept hitting. I wasn’t about to walk/float away from that. Picking this river apart in pieces I know is the right way for me to go about this. The old river nothing new. Water I know like the back of my hand. I’ve ran across some Dead Sea areas that previously were always productive but not many. I’ll try to reason with that later. Next time out I’m I’ll be about 10 miles up river in water that has a better all around flow characteristics. I’m gonna go with the bit higher oxygen level, might prove to be a bit cooler. Might pay off for a few bigger fish.

I don't think you need to go out and buy more tackle. Even though I don't know what you are trying to use. Fishing from the bank or in a boat or tube?

My best producer of all time was the black with the chartreuse bottom. Still have it. That color pattern is long long gone. Won’t fish it for fear of loosing it. These days it’s creek craw and chartreuse with brown back. Just as good. The one lake I fish pretty regularly is pretty pressured. Sees a lot of Senkos. No knock on a Senko but I don’t throw it often there. Do well with other stuff.
