Have you ever bought a rod and reel as a gift
I have my two grandsons set up with SC Bass X’s and Shimano Nasci’s. One fishes a ML the other a Med. I can’t say I coveted them and didn’t want to give them up. But that did let me fish with them a few times.

Baits you've given up on?
My situation with the Zoom lizards is much the same as yours. I’m not getting skunked, and can’t say I’m setting the world on fire. Bass have been on the smaller size also. Didn’t loose confidence or anything. I’ve only been throwing the Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Seed in 4”. I may have to step up to 6” lizards ? to be able to play with a few more color patterns I’d like to throw. I got back into throwing them more and put into the mix because I don’t think they get used a lot in my area. You don’t see them in shops for the most part. Good luck.

I have a bait buying problem.
It’s all good. I’m having trouble getting a few crankbait patterns for spares. One newer bait I will eventually get. I’m ok with the back order of it. Do have some new soft plastics for this season. Am willing to try a few versions of a site sponsor. I feel real good about them or I would not of even bothered. Not much new going on for me. Do need to replenish a few Zoom plastics but I don’t see where that will be a problem. But you never know. It may have been brought up in another post but I think one of the guys will be correct, I don’t think you’ll see much in the way of sales this year. Have fun.

I have a bait buying problem.
I look at it as your addiction could be a lot worse in the full scheme of life. But if you are buying stuff you already have. And to have stuff you have not used yet and buying more is compulsive buying. To me there is a difference between an addiction and compulsive buying. I hope you use or try everything you bought. I’m more about getting the enjoyment out of it regardless if it catches one or not. But the addiction could be way worse. Good luck, I hope you catch one on every different thing you bought.

Bass X VS. Mojo Bass
I agree with you 100%. Who cares what the colors are. But I can see that a person(s) would make that an important point. It might be important enough that a guy wouldn’t use it if it didn’t look good to the eye. I would sacrifice looks for quality, fit, sensitivity, construction, warranty. You will have more in the long run. I would not worry about the color match.

How many of your rods have been broken because of your friends?
My dad broke two of my rods over the years. From just being careless. They were not my best of rods but that were not $9.99 Wally Worlds either. I was ticked but what can you do. As much as I wanted to go off I didn’t, crap happens. I fish alone or have my grandsons with me. They are pretty careful with their stuff and my stuff. They know rods are delicate.

Bass X VS. Mojo Bass
Being an owner of both the Mojo’s and Bass X’s in spinning rods, I would have to disagree and tilt the scale a bit toward the Bass X. I would never tell you which to buy. This is just my opinion. This is just how the setup feels to me. I’m using identical reels on them and same rods just of a different series. The way things might feel to me are gonna be different for you. But in my opinion the quality is equally as good. SC puts out a good product.

Brown craw vs spring craw (yellow) cranks
I don't see much these days with a true yellow in it. The yellow is more of a yellow-chartreuse. If I were to go look through my stuff to pull a yellow, it would probably be a Mr. T 3" yellow Grub.

6 baits
That doesn't mean anything. You are not doing anything wrong. Those Husky Jerks, countdown and X raps can be fish a few ways. They can be ripped and paused also along with what you are doing now. Pick up a couple up that have a real slow float to them.

What hard bait is the best for small mouth
So many great hardbaits for spring. I find on the river the same hardbaits work from spring to fall, only changing the color of the baits. Everyones situation is a bit different I guess. Over the years my first smallie of the year has come on a rat-l-trap many times.

GoBee Spotlight Opinions
Mr. Moderator, My intentions are not to use it as a running light. High beam. More for going into or out of cove or tributary in low or no light. My safety is a priority. I’m not about jeopardizing or compromise anyone else safety on the water.

Rapala DT 6...
DT6 & DT10 is all I use also. No bills have busted. I’m not slapping them around but I’m using them like the tool they are made for around rocks. Not babying them. Bills are fine. I have punctured the finish on some by casting onto bank rock but I fill the holes in with clear coat nail polish or gorilla glue. They are a good bait.

Medium Extra Fast uses
For sure that what’s what I was trying to say.

Rapala DT 6...
I did see where 6th Sense has a great selection of bluegill and sunfish on their various lure models. I do fish a few 6th Sense lures and they are good quality but I didn’t want to get all carried away with finding the perfect bluegill. I bought back some years ago some of the Rapala live image baits. I’m a big Rappy fan and I thought they would set the world on fire. Those live image/real image baits are for crap. I don’t even waste my time with them. I just deal with the old school original patterns. Old school bluegill is hard to beat.

Medium Extra Fast uses
I think you will be terribly disappointed throwing crankbaits on that rod.

Best conditions for white colors?
I guess I’ve always been pretty narrow minded about the color white. Only using it in a spinnerbait, Swimbait, softjerk and grub. The grub pretty much swam in the water column. And pearl pattern Crankbaits. But Never once thought about trying it in a lizard, bug or rodent type, worm, or crawdad or floating worm. Never gave it a chance.

Rapala DT 6...
My thoughts are just packed in some grounds will do little. Not like some oil based formula. Not like it's cooked in either. I'm just gonna leave them zipped up till spring/summer and give them another try. That faded Bluegill is gonna work. I can feel it. No doubt about it.

Rapala DT 6...
I'm not always modifying stuff but that's my most recent. Tweeking a favorite bait a little. And I have some of my Zoom U-Tail worms in coffee grounds trying to enhance them some. I tried fishing some late in the season but results were not good or basically meaningless. I'll revisit that this spring. I'm generally not messing with things. Two small experiments.

Rapala DT 6...
Rapala bluegill has been one of my favorite most productive patterns for years (not live bluegill). I have a brand new DT6 in Bluegill hanging from a branch on my dogwood tree. Trying do make it a faded version and see how I do with it. What I’m trying to do with it seems to be working. I hade the Bill and hook hangers all protected. May work out good.

Fishing Tackle has been wiped out from stores.
You are right about that. Go buy a few things and go and use them while it’s on your mind and thinking about it. About this time of year I start to get my ducks in a row as far as baits, replenishment, spares, bulk line purchases, some terminal tackle an all. In all honesty I don’t buy much when the season starts till It end in the fall. I have a list (fairly short this year) on side of fridge I work off of. I’m pretty much a creature of habit but I do like messing with pattern of a particular bait.

Fishing Tackle has been wiped out from stores.
Probably a lot of regional problems while others are in a normal mode. I refuse to use Walmart’s near me. Don’t know who the toolbags are that order stuff for them but they are terrible. While some of you guys have some great Wally Worlds by the amount of stuff you claim they have there. The DICK’S in my area are no real prize but someone looking for a half decent setup and some overall lures to make an attempt to get started are in decent shape. Here is my issue with my local DICK’S. There are a few relatively close to home. Here is a hypothetical but real true issue / scenarios. Let’s say you are a guy who likes the Strike King line of products. DICK’S is a Strike King Dealer. Say you might want to go buy even the slightest amount of a variety of top water, jerks, squarebills, med. divers or XD divers (let’s not even go into the soft plastics), you would have to go to 4 different DICKS. The one that has squarebill has no divers. The one with top waters has no jerkbaits. It’s not like they are gone or out of stock. The store never had them. I have no desire to go to 4 local DICKS to pick up Strike King Products. Hence the reason to buy mail order. You’ll most likely get what you want and don’t have to waste your time not finding what you are looking for. All these stores are ok if you have nothing special in mind. I believe that do this on purpose so people just will go buy whatever. Guy wants two particular KVD 1.5 Hard Knocks, they don’t have any, he winds up buying three Jawbone lures because he impulse bought. I hope TW stays in business at least until I die.

Rapala DT 6...
DT’s all season bait. I’m a bit partial to Rapala and everything they put out. Fished them since a kid. They just seem to catch fish. Good luck with the OG Slim. I ordered a couple awhile back but have not received them yet. Have been fishing the squarebill Brat some the last couple of seasons. Have only caught smaller bass on them but I attribute that to there are always smaller bass on the bank. Need to fish them a bit differently.

Gulp Saltwater in Freshwater ?
When I go back to pick up my line I ordered I’m going to pick up that herring pattern. What the heck. Pretty basic pattern. Pretty cheap little experiment. I didn’t open the bag but if they are like other Gulps they are on the soft side. I don’t fish a lot of Gulp but do fish a lot of Berkley stuff.

GoBee Spotlight Opinions
I’m going to see if I can find that local this weekend. If not no big deal to order it. Thanks. LED is the way to go. Halogen will travel further but I’m not a gunboat making it’s way up the Mekong Delta.
