Hurricane Effects
We are basically in the same neighborhood. I’m just gonna keep optimistic. Actually can’t wait till October on the river. I love that time.

Why is the Bone color so popular
Is a great color. In my opinion bone is more productive than white. Bone is more productive for Greenies than BrownBass. Bone as a topwater is good but black, gold , chromes and bass patterns generally work better for me. Just my findings, I’m sure it varies or opposite for many. Can only recommend buying a couple of Bomber Model A’s in Bone w/ Orange belly.

Shelves are bare
I don’t do a lot of big heavy worm fishing. I can and do fish them on occasion. Have terminal tackle for that. Majority of my worm fishing is 4”, 4 3/4”, 5” and 6” worms. The Gammy Lite Wire Worm Hooks 1/0 - 3/0 and the Tru-Turns Worm Hooks are my go to hooks. I have not been effected too much by COVID or any trade war if that is going on. I’m waiting on something from TW but I really don’t care about the delayed delivery. Some of you guys are lucky to have some decent Wally Worlds or DICK’S. Ones out my way sort of suck and I’ve boycotted them years ago. Have a couple of mom and pop shops near me. They are sort of ok but they struggle to get things in. Situation stinks for sure. I really don’t impulse buy anymore. Day of that are long gone. Sometimes I get a certain color pattern in mind or is hot working color pattern and I try to find it in a different sizes or body shapes. Been able to do that so far. In season I don’t buy that much. Most things I’m looking for I pick them up in the off season.

Hurricane Effects
Guys I’d never downplay the possible severity of the East Coast hurricane in the works. Be safe, stay safe. Hope no one suffers any damage. I’m hoping it rejuvenates the bass bite some on the lake. Bring down water temp some, possibly oxignate the water some. Have not got hit yet. Mid Atlantic area is tomorrow Tuesday. Sort of looking forward to it’s passing. Somehow going to get Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Hope it brings them up shallower and puts them on structure. River will be wrecked and will be no place to be on. Odd situation yesterday. Had myself Prepped up, hooked up and ready to roll. Never got out in the am. A few areas out my way were hit with flash flooding, strong winds and tornado warning over lake. In all, maybe the passing of these fronts will spark a good bite. Be safe.

Present for friend who just caught PB
You are a good friend. I know first hand it feels nice when someone get you something like that. I took a guy river smallie fishing the other year. I did catch a real nice one. Not my pb but nice. He gave me an 8x10 of it. Pic is not any prize but good. Hung it almost immediately. What is neat about the pic is it’s not so much my fish but it was a day I got that guy on some Smallies that he had never caught before in his life. The pic reminds me more of that more so than the decent Smallie. The guy has settled into trout fishing. I got him exposed to that a few years ago. He might be afraid of the river. I never pushed his buttons on it. Anyway your a good friend and to be commended. Wish you were there with him.

Mail Order vs Local Pharmacy for Rx
Is there a lot of different variations to insulin? Do type 1 and type 2 use completely different medications?

This site has the best people!
You happened to be one on that short list I have. I've always valued your opinion and appreciate your comments. I will make it a point to reach out to you. Be a nice roadtrip dragging my puddle jumper down your way.

Getting a deal on rods at local tackle store
I fish a lot of St. Croix Rods. I’ve gotten a few breaks but for the most part they sell MSRP. You pay list but get a free tshirt, hat or buff.

This site has the best people!
I love the site. We all have opinions and I try like heck to not get real opinionated. I enjoy the differences because we are from different parts of the country on different types of water. There are a few people on here that I’d love to fish with. I just need to reach out to them. If I can make that happen I feel it would be full circle for me.

What keeps me going...
I hear where you are coming from. Numbers wise I’m not setting the world on fire. But I’m not getting skunked and have gotten a few quality bass. Every trip out I’m out to beat my personal best and to not get skunked. That keeps me hooked.

Been a crazy season so far.
I went out Sunday AM with a pretty big head and in my mind I had my morning all figured out. Only until I started fishing. Was pretty hot and terrible. Could not make much happen. Just did not want to go home skunked. After contemplating how I was going to go about it, I figured I was just going to start over where I had started out and decided to pull out a couple of dark horses lures that very often will get you fish. Tied on a chrome w/black back and a gold w/ black back Rat-L-Trap. Was throwing nothing else. 1 1/2 hours later did manage 2 fish fishing the frontside of grass. No prize of fish dinks and runts but bass, healthy fish. Good luck to ya this weekend. Might get a break to some humidity. Friday some heavy rain moving in. We need it. Might trigger a better bite.

You ever misplaced any tackle?
I have my boxes pretty well labeled. My ritual of prepping before I head out and when I’m done fishing is pretty much the same every time. On occasion I do not put a bunch of particular lures back where they belong and then a search starts. But I find them. That from having and taking too much stuff out when you go.

What are your "must haves"?
Soft plastics, Cranks, Topwater and Jigs. Not necessarily in that order. That depends on situations.
- I like Culprit

Best lure color name!
A very productive Case tube is “Road Kill Camo”.

They Just Don't Work Here
I believe what you guys are saying. I fall in along those line also. But I wonder how much of it is mental. Especially when results have been poor for so long. I believe this has a lot to do with it.

Do you think a light or medium light spinning rod is better for small river smallies?
Ok. Yes I can see that. I’m sort of in that same situation also on the river here in SE Penna. For all but drop shot fishing, I fish many soft plastics including grubs, tubes, craws and creatures under overhangs, docks with a Med. X-fast 5’9 Avid Spinning rod. Shimano Stradic 2500. St Croix put out a nice product for soft plastics. 7 foot rod might be a bit to get use to but only a feet longer than you are use to.

Do you think a light or medium light spinning rod is better for small river smallies?
Try to get yourself a nice 6’8” to 7’ setup. Get a nice Fast or X-fast sensitive rod and 6:0 ratio reel.

Picking an aluminum bass boat
I fish from a Tracker 19’ Pro Team. Fished a 175 previous. Will most likely own another Tracker before I’m gone.

Soft plastics
PowerWorm, RoboWorm and Zoom baits are always ready to be thrown but Salty Spiders, tubes, and grubs might be tied on.

New name for the local NFL Team
"GO TEAM", not what I really want to say about the situation but this site is not the place for it I guess.

Does TW still take a while to get order?
Not the way it's suppose to work. Next day is next day, 2 day is in 2 days. Not 2 days from whatever.

Been a crazy season so far.
Well the worm has definitely taken a turn this past weekend. Fished Friday and Saturday. Yes a topwater and CB bite was there but lacked enough to make me want to jump into soft plastics and slow things down. Though not bettering a personal best my two biggest bass of the season were caught. Both 18” females. Solid 3+ lb. fish on worm and a creature. Temps and water temps have been high here out East. We have been getting good hard passing showers the last few nights. Hard rains but no flash floods. Looking forward to Saturday. Gonna go at it the same way.

Slow muddy river fishing
Go have a good time. You know they are there. Proof is in the pudding because of the pics you seen. With any luck there will be enough visible structure and that a good starting point.

Does TW still take a while to get order?
TW they are good people. I’ve experienced the same things y’all have. The COVID has the world upside down. Things will get back to normal eventually. I have a rods that’s a back order item. It will come just a matter of time. Not a life or death item. Baits seem like no back order but maybe that has to do with both shipments and lack of manpower. TW puts it out front that COVID is causing all kinds of delays. I appreciate that. BPS on the other hand are flat out lyres. If you spend $50.00 or more with them it free 2 day shipping. You might see it in a week or more. They don’t even answer their phone. Bought someone a present from there and caused a delay for me but I guess it is what it is. I just hope TW never gets wrapped up in some deal with BPS.
