  1. I too use a military bag....however I just use an old medics bag filled with plano boxes of lures. There's 3 zippered pouches in the bag and it folds up nicely with a plastic snap to turn into a 'box'. Again I fish mostly rivers and streams so I need something a little more mobile than most others. Also, if the bag gets soaked, it's made of a nylon/polyester blend that dries in literally 10 minutes.
  2. My PB caught in a retention pond of a housing subdivision

Just curious as to whether anyone has used the sebile products? I'm thinking of maybe purchasing the buzzbait but at almost $20 a pop, I don't really know if I'm ready to pull the trigger on that. Any feedback would be much appreciated thanks.
  4. I think that you may just have a mental block about using anything else. What I'm saying is that maybe you should pick another lure to focus your attention on and get used to the tendencies of that lure. It takes time and patience to get used to building confidence in lures, but with that time and experience will come the knowledge of when to appropriately choose the right lure for the right situation. I'm a spinnerbait and chatterbait fisherman myself, and am currently working my way up to being comfortable with worms and soft plastics. I know that this, however frustrating it will be in the short term, will pay off big in the long run. I hope this helps....
  5. The Poor Fish website has them on sale right now as well....
  6. x2 on the strikeforce....and its been a joy fishing it
  7. I'm assuming you're talking about spinning gear. I have 2 abu garcia cardinal 101s and a shimano cx 1000. The abu's can be had anywhere for about $30-40 all day long and cast smoothly for the price and have held up for years with maintenance and care. The shimano has a rear drag, which I really like since I fish mostly in rivers and streams, and hate trying to adjust the drag on the spool when fighting a fish.
  8. I don't really know for a fact what the temps are but a ballpark guess would be upper 40s to mid 50s
  9. Also forgot to mention that the air temp will be in the mid-70s. Thanks again.
  10. I'm wanting to go out for a little while tomorrow, but the forecast is calling for rain all day. I'm wondering what you all throw when it's raining? Also I'm wondering if any of you scientifically minded fisherman could perhaps simplify barometric pressure and how this affects fish in terms of turning the fish on or off? Thanks in advance.
  11. x2 on the pricing. There are other brands out there just as good but a bit pricier. For the money, a good investment to keep your rods from tangling up.
  12. I used to use UL setups extensively, just because I'm located in the city and there were never any "real" places to fish other than local city parks. I still fish UL primarily when teaching one of my younger cousins or someone else how to fish. I love the battle and rush when hooking a 3+ lb fish on light line! Nowadays I'm forced to use light tackle at the least when I'm just fishing because I don't own a boat and the only real fishing I do anymore is wading in the local river chasing them smallies!
  13. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've grown up and lived in Columbus my whole life, except that is for a stint in the Army. I don't mind catching largemouth when the rivers and streams are up like they are now, but there's nothing like hooking up with a 4 lb small mouth out of a river. Fish mostly the Scioto when the waters down, and residential sub-division retaining/farm ponds for large mouth. Good luck to everyone this season and keep the lines wet!!!
