My big Bass of the week, caught her Saturday morning around 0600 off of a topwater plug. I did not get her length but she weighed in at 9.5 lbs, and ofcourse was released.

Thanks..not sure about the red tail, but we have had some rain here recently and the water is murky and not as clear as it normally is, so that may contribute to her pale color.

Thank you The fishing has been dead in this pond for the last 3 weeks...have not been catching anything, not even small ones. One morning 2 weeks ago I noticed what I believed to be a large Bass nail and engulf a baby duck off of the waters surface. I caught this lovely 9.5 pound lady around sunrise the morning of July 17th. Yes, she was released to be caught another day. I am still working on breaking the Maryland state record of 11.2 lbs..... Pic below.

Just make sure you have a flash light and ensure it is a bass and not a snakehead before you go to lip it..lol

The mornings, evenings and nights have been very slow for me down in southern maryland. I do most of my night fishing around 11pm, maybe i should push it back some and try around 2 pm.

I own two of them and like them very much..but then again, I don't have the money to purchase other reels just to see what is better or not. I weekly conduct a basic cleaning and lube maintenance and every 4 months a major cleaning and lube to include the gears.

Todays biggest Bass, 7.6 lbs

8 to 10 foot of water using big slow moving baits. My big bass go to bait is a 1/2 ounce Booyah Boogee chatterbait with a 4.5" Lake Fork live magic shad as a trailer.

I myself use Seaguar INVIXZ line. Make note that Fluorocarbon line has allot of memory thus causing it to curl up and cause backlashes. So with this information it is highly recommended to use a line conditioner such as Ardent line butter or Kevin VanDam's line and lure conditioner. I will soon be trying out Bass Pro Shops XPS fluoro line.

I own 2 of the BPS JM Signature Series and like them very much. I also own a US Reels Hibdon Supercaster 800 SX and I must say it cast like a dream and outcast my BPS reels by atleast 20 feet, but I do not care for how the "see-saw" levelwind puts line on the spool.

The Community I live in has a few ponds..appears to also hold some nice Bass.

For a trophy Bass, I would suggest: 1. Falcon, Tx 2. Okeechobee, Fl 3. Fork, Tx

Caught me another big sexy Saturday morning. She weighed in at 8.12 lbs and was caught on a Booyah Boogee. The one in my avitar weighed 7.14 and was caught this April. Both pics are below.

I am wondering if the blue color will affect a Bass's temptation towards the lure.

The fish in my avatar was caught using Palomar, not sure if it was properly tied, but it did the job..lol
