Cool. Getting the Helix 5 then. Now I'm not entirely sure just from looking at the description online, but does the Helix series come with a transducer or a mount?

Console most likely. So if they get the 5, they can pick up SI/DI/GPS for what they would save from not getting a 7. Now just to be clear (since it's always SI vs DI) Doesn't the Helix 5 SI GPS (.com/Products/HELIX-5-SI-GPS/) have both SI and DI?

I'm helping out my old club pick out a new piece for their boat. They are fixed on Humminbird, either a Helix 5 with SI/DI/GPS or a Helix 7 with DI/GPS. Is the decrease in screen size worth the SI? Note that probably 70%, if not more of their fishing is shallow Illinois fishing.

Lews tournament lite g speed spool
It's just the new TPro, with the LFS (lighter, faster, stronger) build. I've got one and I love it. Will probably buy a new one come xmas for my jig rod.

GLoomis warranty
I broke a GL2 spinning rod yesterday on a hookset. I think I've had it for just over a year. What are my options? I'm honestly not a big fan of the rod either, so could I upgrade somehow (similar to what Dobyn's will do)?

130 Whopper Plopper
I throw it on a muskie rod haha. I'd throw it on a Dobyn's Fury 734.

Dedicated crankbait setup
It's got a 6 pin Centrifugal braking system. Looks like that rod is on special too /Bass-Pro-Shops-Crankin-Stick-Casting-Rod/product/14050107113767/

River Fishing
Funnily enough, this thread as gotten more attention than my repost. I'm gonna bring some swimjigs, weightless plastics and inline spinners/spoons.

Illinois River Fishing
My buddy says he got two kayaks, so I guess it is navigable. Im thinking of throwing weightless flukes and senkos on 8lb FC. Gonna take some small spoons and inline spinners too.

Illinois River Fishing
Going up to Northern Illinois this weekend and doing some river fishing. Targeting smallies or largemouth, which ever bites first. I've never really river fished before, can someone give me some solid advice as to what I should bring up there? Fishing the Kishwaukee River.

I wasn't 100% sure, I figured more people would see this. And correct me haha.

6'10 ml rod
I have a medium TFO fast rod, it's on the lighter side of medium, but it works well for me.

Feburary
I've heard that it's usually too windy and it's just before the pre-spawn.
- Best line for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits?

Feburary
Just got a job, and been working part time as a contractor. My parents want to go to texas, that's the "other trip," so my way would be paid. Just learned that my exgf's grandparents have a house by the Big O. Why did I let her go again? haha

Feburary
I'd like to go on a trip sometime in Feb, that's about when I get the worst of the cabin fever. I was planning on heading to Lake Fork since I could knock out another trip to Texas, but I've heard that it's really awful in Feb. Anywhere y'all would recommend in Feb?

Medium diving crankbait rod
this. I have that mojo and I despise it, trying to sell it to a friend. You definitely want to move up to a MH, I used to use a Veritas 7'6MH winch rod, and now I use a FR705cb. The 705cb is the perfect rod for everything south of a 10XD.

Does lighter mean more sensitive?
None specifically, just asking.
-
Does lighter mean more sensitive?
What role does the density of the carbon play? From my physics background, I'd want to say that the more dense the rod, the better the sensitivity, but from my experience fishing I'd say the opposite.

Does lighter mean more sensitive?
Hey guys, So I've been curious lately and I'm wondering if a lighter rod means a more sensitive rod? I'd assume in regards to blanks yes, since components like cork can greatly add to the weight. But if you had two 7' MH/F blanks, would the lighter of the two be the more sensitive?

Kistler KLX vs Dobyns Champion
As stated above, Dobyn's really does have impressive customer service. Now I have never fished the KLX, but I will give you my $0.02 on the Dobyn's. I've got the DX745c and I wish I had the DX744c, I could use a little bit lighter of a rod. But it is a very sensitive rod, I could never use anything less after fishing it. It is very light and balances well with my Lew's TProG. However, I dislike split grips, so for that alone I would opt for the Dobyn's.
