  1. Howdy, I'm starting a video series for my college team sponsors products. I'd like to know what you guys like to see in these product reviews and what bothers you most about them. I'll looking into Lew's, Dobyn's, Spro, Scum Frog and Lake Fork.
  2. I've been picking up this rod every time I go to F&S, I cant help but notice how it feels fast and not extra fast.
  3. Your local F&S or Dicks may have a Lews Mach combo, it's $120 and the rod is a mod fast, perfect for moving baits. It;s a little more affordable, but you can spend that money on some tackle.
  4. The Stick-O is there senko right? I got a big box of them a few years ago and I've just been fishing them nonstop.
  5. Whopper Plopper, Double Whopper Plopper, Savage Duck, Whopper Plopper. Whopper Plopper.
  6. I just bought mine today from work, pretty much got a free Savage Duck with my purchase. My DWP is in powder, going to take it out tomorrow night and see what she can do.
  7. I've been using the whopper plopper for about 2 years now (I think). I'm a bit more comfortable throwing a black cavitron, I think it's got better sounds and vibrations. But the fact that you can stop a plopper and twitch it is a pretty solid advantage over a buzzbait. I did lose my plopper a bit ago, had monkey butt, going to buy powder next. Does anyone prefer the 130 over the 90? And now they've got a silent one?
  8. Speaking of F&S, I started my new job at F&S this week. It's been a solid 3 months since I succumbed to the will of the bait monkey. Ended up buying one of those Double Whopper Ploppers in Powder (white) and the Savage Duck (black and yellow spots). But I did get them for just over $15, so there is that.
  9. Howdy, Anyone excited about the new S-glass SCs coming out in Nov? I've been in the market for a 10XD rod. There is a 7'11 H SC in this series. Now I regularly borrow a Dobyns D806cb, but I can get the SC 15% cheaper than the Dobyns. Bassresource, help make my decisions for me!
  10. I've got the chance to get a LTB dirt cheap. I want a rod that will compliment my DX745. So I guess I'm looking for a finesse casting rod, which leaves me with the 6'10 M or ML. For what it's worth, I'd like a rod for small finesse jigs, shakeyheads, Ned rigs, maybe some small t-rigs.
  11. When the fishing really slows down, I go at night. My buddy and I fished about 3 hours and probably caught 50lb of bass. The noisier the bait the better.
  12. My $0.02, I have a Dx745c and Ive gotten away with throwing 1/8oz on it in a tournament. So just remember that those are just numbers.
  13. Explain what you mean by softer/faster. I assume you mean a fast rod, which would be softer than the shakeyhead rod, which would be extra fast?
  14. When it comes to finesse fishing, two techniques come to mind, drop shot and shakeyheads. I often see those rods marketed differently, but are they that much different? If I had to guess, I'd say that you want a shorter, slower action rod for the drop shot?
  15. Since a Dobyn's isn't on the list, I'll have to say SC.
  16. Dobyn's has one of the best warranties out there. I've yet to try the new Sierras. Before, I wouldn't recommend upgrading to a Savvy, but if the Sierras are like people say, it'd be a good deal to move up. I come off as a rod snob here, but the furys and savvys were about the same level of not sensitive (haha). However, they make great moving bait rods, as they are light and balanced.
  17. Veritas frog rod, Dobyns Fury 735.
  18. I use 8lb for a leader on my spinning rod. And I've been known to use 12lb on my casting rods.
  19. Somethings change, but people recommending Dobyn's rods? That never changes.
  20. Thanks guys. It's a USAA card, according to the statement from my app, there is no back-interest, and I do not have to pay interest on my pre-existing balance as of next July. My goal is to build my credit somewhat quickly. I'd like to get a down payment on a truck next January (2018). About "living beyond my means," I was unexpectedly fired from my job, so my income is pretty small right now. When you have no income, everything is "living beyond your means."
  21. Just a heads up, the action on the FR735 is a bit slower than that of the Savvy 735 or the Sierra 735. If you want the extra-fast tip, move up.
  22. Hey guys, So I got my first credit card, and the first payment is due. Now I have 0% APR until July next year when it goes up to 11%. So in respect to the oh-so-mysterious credit score, what's my best payment option? Should I pay the minimum since there is no interest for now? I am also in between jobs as I just graduated, so now is a convenient time to have to just pay the minimum. -Rob
