Need Some Mature Opinions Please!
SAVE your MONEY!!!!! Seriously high-end set-ups don't catch fish. Unless you are on the FLW Tour or BASS Elite, there are plenty of budget outfits that will catch just as many fish. Believe me, save your money. Mike

To my knowledge the rivers have no hp restrictions, although there are "no-wake" zones. Mike

Thank you for the reply and info. To be more clear when I talk stability, I mean that I want to be able to stand and fish at times. Mike

Kayak Fishing
First let me say that I have never fished out of a kayak. I have fished out of a canoe. I would like one mainly for lakes and slower rivers, not interested in whitewater. My main "wants" would be stability, high seat for vision, ability to stand, and easy access to gear. Also, I want to haul it in my truck bed. I have done some online research and I like the Wilderness Commander and Jackson Coosa. Am I paddling up the wrong stream or am I tracking straight in my selections to research further? I mainly fish for bass, pike musky if that helps. Any tips or info would be welcome. Thanks, Mike

Pa Horse Power Limit?
It all depends on the type of lake, by that I mean who owns it. It could be a Fish Commision lake, Army Corp, or state park lake. I feel they should allow any motor on most lakes and have a speed limit if above a certain horsepower. The best example is Pymatuning along the PA-OH border in NW PA. I believe it is around 14,000 acres and can whip into quite a dangerous lake yet is only 20 hp. It was a 9.9 lake until just a few years ago. So many people changed their 9.9 outboards to 15 hp, that the name of Pymy 9.9 developed, just my $0.02. Mike

Right Or Left
Why do most people when usung spinning tackle reel with their left hand, but when using baitcasting gear they reel with their right. I did the same until a few years ago when I switched. Now I use both hands with casting gear (depending on the reel) but only buy left hand models now.

Suprise While Smallie Fishing
Just looking around the site and saw your favorite river was Slippery Rock Creek. Fished it last week and caught a nice 15 inch largemouth which surprised me. Got it on a white buzzbzit below the flyfishing area. Continued success to you. Mike

Horsepower Restricted Lakes
Thanks guys for the advice. It is funny, but it seems that for what one is getting the glass is actually cheaper than the aluminum around here. Thanks again.

Horsepower Restricted Lakes
My problem is that in my area, near the PGH Airport, there is a mix of waters from electric only, 10 hp, 20 hp, and unlimited horsepower lakes. I am looking for a fiberglass bass boat, probably 15-17 ft, mainly due to recommendations on the stability. Is it better to get a boat for the unlimited horsepower lakes and just use the electric on the smaller lakes? Or is it better to get a 10-20 hp and just labor on the unlimited waters? I would like to start fishing tournaments and they occur on all the types of waters. The only really good water close to me is the Ohio River which is unlimited. The real answer is of course two boats, but only one boat is in the cards right now. Any suggestions are appreciated.
