So with it December in Kansas we don't see lots of big Largemouth. In fact it's almost down to one one of 2 local powerplants if you want to have a decent day at all and then the Wipers are generaly the best thing going. The wiper are nice because 1 they get big & 2 they school and if you catch one you can sometimes catch several more on consecutive casts. Anyhow I'd just got a new rod to go chase Wiper with. I needed something fairly stiff but not crazy expensive because I dont think it will get used most of the year. I ended up with a MH Duckett rod and I put my 100 size Speed spin on and was chucking a 4" swimbait. So long story short, I get bit and bring the fish to the surface next to the boat and see its a Largemouth and a big one! It immediately dives back down and goes under a steel cable. At this point I'm thinking no way will I get that fish in the boat but then it turns around and swims back from under the cable and I was able to quickly get her in the net. I was by myself and wanted to find someone to take my pic but I didn't want to leave the hot water outlet and take a chance killing the fish by releasing it in colder water. I settled for a couple videos weighing it and snapped a couple pics and sent her back on her merry way.

Me and Peter made it to LaCygne Sunday. We made it to the outlet before first light. It was slow going for awhile before I got my FIRST EVER double. Once I figured out how to use my snagging spoon it was on!!! I bet I snagged close to 20? 12" shad! You'd be amazed how hard a snagged shad will pull! After that we followed the birds around and started hammering Whites and Wipers including several doubles including this one. Peter stuck this GREAT 6# LM I'm not great at remembering how many we caught but Petef figured 40-50 Whites/Wipers

I like it. Once I figured out I could Velcro the cuffs tight the rain stopped coling in my sleeves. (Duh) I picked that suit because it has pants with removable suspenders instaid of bibs. One other thing I like is they have a pocket on the leg designed for a pair of pliars. On the down side the hood on the jacket is not removable :-/
