The transducer you are wanting to upgrade to costs $200+ I'd get a 998 or 999.

What lake?

I got to finaly catch a decent size fish on my new Destroyer rod and Tatula R reel. For some reason I need heavier jig rod than most

For anyone wanting to fish Miola/Paola Thursday night I did make it there Sunday for a couple hours. I had my son with me so I didn't fish a ton. The fishing was a little tough but I think that was still from the cold front. The water temp was 70* hopefully by Thursday the bite should pick up. For those of you that haven't fished paola before it's a very nice lake with something for everyone. It has a rocky dam, boat docks, weedy shoreline and some deep structure like brush piles and a 20' deep submerged bridge. I know of at least one 6# that came out of that lake (into a skillet) but I'd be shocked if we drug out anything close to that big unless it's one of the 60# Flathead I know were released back into the lake. I may try and fish it again tomorrow night.

I have a couple custom rods with wooden handles and I love them! But if I were you I'd post a pic of the rod your looking at and we can help more... If its not a fairly new build I'd probably pass on it.

I'm excited to be able to fish one of the Thursday nighters, I'm going to try to fish Paola tomorrow night and then I'll give a report.

How clear was the water and what temp?

I have a hard time believing the manufactuer put the Sticker in a place that could be removed to install a stereo. What boat do you have?

Lol, you guys crack me up! I fish 1 jig 1/2 oz football! I keep the painted heads in a 3700 box and tie my skirts with rattle bands and keep them in a ziplock so I can "dress " them an I need them. I also have a 3700 filled with Rage Craws/Lobsters.

I'll be skinny dipping in the gulf that weekend.

Clayton you may have seen this on Facebook the other day but I think it's hilarious. We took our dog for a walk the other day and came upon a hydrant they're were flushing. I think Lucy loved playing in it, it beats getting squirted with the garden hose any day!

Patriarch! I have 2 I got one on EBay that was broken and missing parts. I sent it in and asked if they could fix it for me. They sent me a new one for FREE!

Probond is great. I also would get the small surgical tubing to hold the guides in so you can static test the guide placement and you may want some bubble remover What are you going to do for a handle? I've used a round file for a reamer... I'm sure DVT will have some more ideas of things I've forgot.
