I was tought long ago to check your hooks. If it will not "stick" in your thumbnail it's not sharp.

I have a wireless 75# is this something I should look into? What is the advantage = speed?

It's no secret I'm a Rage guy but I think a lot of it has to do with timing and color. If they won't take a jig it will all be a mute point... if they will the color is as important as anything. I mostly use the colors Seibert posted and I'm going to order some of those trailers soon

I'm going to vote for Hillsdale. I think that place scares blue and that may level the playing field for the rest of us.

Yep it was the state lake. the bite was almost non existent until almost dark. I tried a lot of "finesse" but in the end it was a 5/8oz jig that did the best. ^^^ 1000? :occasion15:

I use a window weight. As for the coral I live in kansas and about all the coral I see is in my sps reef tank but I don't think you should try anchoring on a reef EVER!

First off I don't own a SOL and haven't ever used one but the 50E should do what you want it to do at a great price. If a 50 won't throw it (it will also depend a LOT on your rod) you may want to get a spinning reel.
