For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Me and Wachati went to Miami county early Sunday morning until around 10? We caught fish but it was hard to catch more than one in a spot. Some times we wouldn't get any fish off a point at all. The bite may be picking up but it's still barely worth going.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
28MPH winds as I hit the water this evening at Miami Co. I brought 8 rods but only unloaded 4 that I thought I could use in the wind. I had an eyelet fall out of a tip top on a Veritas and I was throwing a 3/4oz spinner and had that once a year backlash bad enough I just put it away leaving me with a deep crank rod with an old back up 5.1 reel that hated the wind as much as I did! Long story short I was using a 7'11''H rod with 23#fc to throw a 1oz jig not the ideal bait on a tough time of the year for that lake I did get a few with the biggest 2 probably close to 3# As I left the lake and got phone service again I checked and the winds were still 16-24mph

Feel Of Reel When Palming???
I am on the other side of the fence on this one. I don't always palm my reels it just depends what I'm throwing and how . My FAVORITE reel is this Core 50 but if I'm not palming it I find the bump on the back of it to dig in on me a little. I LOVE this reel but I 'll have to say that bump was a poor design.

It's good to hear they are starting to bite again. Me and a buddy are either going to head to the State lake or Melvern Tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Lews Tournament Pro Vs Shimano Cronarch 200E
It sounds like a win win either way. I personally love the TP & at $158 they are cheaper than the Shimano

Refurbished Lew's Tournament Pro's $100
So I am moving over to the dark side and have sold a couple of Curado's tn hopes of getting a couple more Pro's. I noticed a guy on Ebay selling "refurbished" TPs. I asked him for a price on 3 and he told me $300 for the 3 of them + $10 shipping!!! I was a bit shocked at the price so I asked him how scratched up they were before I committed to buy them and was told they were in good condition. I paid for them at around noon on Monday and had them by 2pm Tuesday!!!!!!! I anxiously opened the box and to my surprise The first one I pulled out was in New condition with only a small scuff on the word SPEED (top left reel). BTW they did not come in the factory boxes. The second and third looked good with what may be new side covers on them but the frames show some scuffs. I am pretty sure They had all 3 been totally disassembled and cleaned and re lubed and oddly enough they weren't as over lubed as the Pro's I've bought new and I think they used different grease. I'm not sure but the bearings may have been replaced on them as they were super slow like the ones in a brand new reel. They will only freespool for a few seconds so They will need a good flushing. (maybe they re greased them?) Now for the kicker ............. One of the drags did not work! I took the handle side cover off to see what the problem was . The sleeve (part 50 if you have a parts diagram) was not in far enough this made the star drag hit the handle before the drag was fully released. This reel had 2 sleeve washers (part 49). This is an optional part that is a spacer. After removing both of them everything works fine. The 3 carbon drag washers on that reel had been replaced and I'm thinking they may have been thicker than the others making the spacers unnecessary? Oddly enough the drag washers are dry, I will probably put some drag grease on them that's how I have my others and they still have plenty of drag and I think it makes it smoother. Next I'll flush the bearings and spool them up so I can go toss some lead and report back on how they work. I'm curious to see if they are as smooth as my others. Over all I'm happy with my purchase but I can see how others would be bent out of shape to say the least. I just thought I'd give some incite to others on buying a used reel off Ebay. If your looking for a smoking deal on a great reel you may want to check Ebay for a refurbished Lew's it looked like they had several other Lew's reels besides the TP.

Abu Garcia Veritas Owners Have Questions
I had a 7'm and got rid of it and got a 7'6'' mh. Not that it was a bad rod but at the time I didn't have the arsenal I have now and I needed it to do more than a medium rod can do (like throw a spinner) The 7'6'' is one of my favorite rods . The aluminum threads and nut on the reel seat sometimes "creak" wen I cast the insert is out of the tip top on mine now but I'm going to take the blame for that by lure retrival...
