  1. They were bass, I just had the drag loosened. I always forget to set it on the 1st cast. Then I loosened it again after trying to free a hang up and for got to set it back...repeat process. I like that hack attack jig also. I have 1 3/8th oz jig that I wont fish in that spot because I dont want to risk losing it. I save it for the grassy bottom spots.
  2. I lost 3 jigs in about 30 mins the other day and missed every fish that hit. I wont be fishing the jigs I ordered there, off the shelf for me at certain locations.
  3. I think mine has some spots here and there, best believe I will get a new one once it gets to the point I don't want to tolerate it any more. I also have peeling on the black plastic reel seat coating. Ive been using the rod for almost a year and a half now, heavy duty, from bream to snakeheads. I cant really complain. Its been put through the rigors of Florida weather, sloppy canals and year round fishing.
  4. 5. I have many of the rods named, but the bucoo and mojo need to be added, dont think I saw them brought up, if so my mistake. I dont own either.
  6. you need a second pizza maker
  7. Pizza is my favorite food. I can eat pizza almost everyday and not get sick of it, followed by burgers then wings Put burgers and wings on pizza!!
  8. !!!!!!!! no humor allowed !!!!!!!!
  9. I set the hook with elegance and seductive splendor, so Ill never break a rod on a hookset. I do bump the heck out of them on roofs and other objects. I yell every time.
  10. I had one rod, until I joined the forums. Talking with enthusiasts on a daily basis opens up one's curiosity to using/buying/trying other equipment. I have bought a few setups and will indeed buy more. I like trying different brands and collecting now. I use different line choices for different situations, so many times I'll carry one rod and switch casting reels on it depending on where I'm fishing or for species. If I need one rod to get me by for all situations, Ill bring a reel with braid on a 6ft9 to 7ft MH casting and add leaders if need be. If I feel to use spinning tackle, I'll adjust it as well. Unfortunately I wont go snakehead fishing with fuoro or yozuri on my reel but I have no problem adding it onto the braid for bass if I need to.

Im loving the Rock Jig (football head) they make. I bought one, lost it on a cast somehow and made sure to buy 3 more. Most confidence and success Ive had with a jig yet. I have some North Star baits coming so hopefully they are as good or better.
  12. Im still committed. My friend was trying to get me to use senkos today as he was. He was catching many fish, probably about 15. I caught about 10 fish today on the jig, which is the most Ive ever caught. Real good confidence building day. A few near 4lbs I will also say that the all terrain tackle football jig has been the best football jig that "I've" uses thus far. I usually get snagged at this lake I fish at within 3 casts. I did end up losing one jig today but after many fish, but at another lake I was fishing in the same area. Jim Moynagh rock jig I have 10-12 jigs coming from Northstar Custom baits shortly. I cant wait to try those out
  13. They are still on sale for 109 on the fish ranger
  14. Im RH and prerfer LH baitcasting reels. Many people feel the same as I do, but many others don't. You have to either get used to it or see if you like RH retrieve better. Its def a slight change coming from spinning to either retrieve.
  15. The newer one also has an all black buttcap and the 1st gen has red accents on it for anyone not aware
  16. I dont even think my store has new vendettas and the gen 1 will be going back since I have one in the same action already
  17. No thats the guy from JD custom baits. They always throw the snakehead roundups. They should be coming up again soon enough. Might be a good thing to try. I fish in that area alot as do many of my friends. Maybe a bunch of us can hit some spots one day.
  18. Anyone get their rod yet? Mine has an eta of tomorrow, just got the shipped alert a few mins ago but its been in transit.
  19. bu bu but, they are destroying bass populations!!!! Im glad you did this as with the other 128 snakehead the fwc opened up, no bass were found inside, unlike the peacock bass that had both bass and snakehead in it. I always release them back into the wild due to my.. countless... I mean hundreds of hours of research in the wild
  20. x10.. I attempted to skip mine today under a boardwalk, hit some dock pilings at 100mph quite a few times and the bait is still together like nothing happened.
  21. there are some rigging vids on youtube "sick fish". I use a 4/0 swimbait hook in the 4 inch, someone else said 5/0 works better for them
  22. Those 3 accidents you had were probably the most fun accidents you could have freshwater fishing unless you hook a snook or tarpon. I use frogs(buzzing and hollow body), creature baits, rage shads, lizards. Ive never caught one on a spinnerbait...yet. You could just keep throwing the swimming flukes up top, there is a boring video on youtube where that is what they used. Ill link it, its no Captain Shane video, thats for sure.
  23. Im on ten and it hasnt even shown any sign of slowing down yet. If I buy a bottle of mendit they may last forever
  24. They will work, matter of fact, I know some people that use them almost exclusively for peacock bass and they are picky at times.
  25. I only have tried the 4inch version, 2 in a pack
