  1. I have 12lb flouro and hybrid on most reels 1 reel with 50lb braid and 1 with 65 I have jigs ranging up to finesse?? to 1.5 oz. I fish mainly with the 12lb test fluoro reel on MH rods The rods I have seem to max out at 1oz and feel a bit overpowered with some of the heavier jigs with trailers, I will step it up to a Heavy powered rod shortly Ill probably stick to the 3/8th and under on them then until I beef up the line and gear. Thanks
  2. Do you have a max weight jig per certain lb test? Example is you have 12lb test on your reel, do you not throw over a 3/8 or 1/2 oz?
  3. I get tons of fish on the 1 dollar walmart spinners in white
  4. I was eyeing a dobyns champion extreme but Flukemastr has me interested in buying a duckett which is a hell of alot cheaper. I may end up with a few lightly used rods it seems.

h2o pricing and quality = yes
  6. yes cant forget hollow bodies(normal and popper) and also some sort of buzzing frog like a ribbit/hornytoad/humpin toad.
  7. Any one like the powell max's or endurance rods? I see they are on sale way below normal price.
  8. Stuff that works down here constantly colors:watermelon red, green pumpkin, black, purple, junebug, baby bass, white, whatever soft plastics: texas rigged worms flukes and swimming flukes senkos type baits liards ulgly otters/bavers trick worms hard baits: shallow squarebills red eyed shads spinnerbaits - 1 dollar wally world spinners work plenty good spooks chatterbaits Jigs 1/4-3/8th oz for general fishing/swimming....heavier if you want to flip into lilies or mats if you have some mucky areas like down here in south florida You can just goto walmart and make it rain in the fishing isle when you are down there. Theres enough stuff there for cheap to have you catching fish if you didnt bring anything or want some extra. Most of the stuff above is there in various brands. If you are catching bass in NY you should be catching them here with what you have. If I were you tho, see if you can catch some redfish or snook!!!
  9. I bought a bunch of different sizes but the 3/8ths for me seems to get the most action in terms of catches for now
  10. True @ hootie, I didn't know those things were needed until I came here. Enjoy your purchase That trion reel is very smooth and is a great value for the money spent. Im actually looking into buying one myself. I think you will definitely love the senkos its hard to fish those wrong and they catch fish like no other for many. My young niece was able to catch 7 bass in 30 minutes and it was her 2nd time bass fishing. Id look into the wacky rings too in order to save some money on baits. You can make your own with dental bands, etc
  11. They look like beasts. I noticed they range from 1&1/4-4oz maximum lure weights depending on size. The reviews look great from what I've read.
  12. senko type bait, but I try not to use them as much anymore, transitioning to a jig now

I know this is an old topic. Bought a few of these in a pinch yesterday since they were 2.99. Seemed to get thru the cover pretty well. Hopefully they hold up. I will finally make a purchase from both Northstar and Seibert in the next week or 2.
  14. That design is horrendous when trying to use a swimming fluke due to the split belly. It takes work, but I think I may just add glue.
  15. I see you are in Weston, its so cheap at Sports Authority, if you can find one with a fishing dept in Broward. 12.99 for 600yds of it. I think you may have to check pines because Sawgrass doesnt have one to my knowledge anymore.
  16. Ive never used one but by watching the video on youtube the shadalicios seems like it has more body action, seems softer. Skeet says to cut a fin off and it alters the sick fish a bit. I may do that to the one I have been using to see the difference.
  17. It's funny, I'm watching Bill Dance and he just pulled a leech out of a bass's mouth.
  18. Just caught one, thought it may be a leech as well. I even had my mother look at the fish. I removed both. The fish looked skinny.
  19. Until they are allowed to fish there regularly, all of that yappin will cease...I know Id rather fish in a pond than a puddle. My friends lakes have bigger fish on average than the one I fish in....I like to fish where they live. I consider them lucky, minus the HOA/fishing police people.
  20. I fish in a neighborhood pond and this genetleman informed me of parasites on the fish, which I dont think I noticed before. He caught one and sure enough there were a bunch on one he caught. I caught a small bass the other day and there was one in the roof of his mouth. I was able to remove it with a stick. The funny part is a blue heron almost stole him from the grass with the hook still attached to him when I got the stick, my rod handle fell in the water. How common are parasites on bass and how detrimental is it to their health? Ive seen to only notice it in this lake so far. edit---was able to catch a fish with them....Leeches?
