  1. Just got some cheap $1.00 walmart buzzbaits, the hooks are suprisingly sharp, but the "propellor" i am not toohappy with because it slides and then sticks at the front, I fixed this by putting a Sea Striker plastic bead in front of the "propellor" and now it is working great for me, ive caught 5 2-3 pounders off of these the past week. Just a tip for you guys to save some money on your buzzbait purchases.
  2. try fishing a Rage Tail craw and bouncing it off the bottom. i would fish the channel you are speaking of with the craw, but otherwise I would stick to the frog if I were you. Also maybe try a spinner bait or buzzbait in a white/chartreuse color. As a last resort I would try using some of the scent spray by YUM in the garlic/ail scent, it seems to work for me. I hope this might help you.
  3. I have dedicated "work days" twice a month at the local pond
  4. This may be a stupid question, but how exactly do you rig and work a zoom finesse worm?
  5. Well...sounds like a reason to use my favorite excuse, "the fish ate my homework", I am in 11th grade and I do all my homework in class and at lunch and show my parents when I get home.
  6. I am going to fish a local river tomorrow and I am very unfamiliar with it. there are no weeds to speak of, and the deepest section is about 20 feet. I was thinking about fishing a black/blue jig with a Rage Tail Chunk as a trailer, I also was going to fish a JuneBug colored Zoom Finesse worm, a buzzbait, and my Rapala Original Floater....I am new to the sport so does this sound ok??
  7. I was fishing a small pond yesterday with a muck bottom and started fishing top-water with no results. I switched to GY Senkos and still no fish. I decided to tie on a 4"2-3ft diving Rapala minnow and ended up catching 6 largemouth each a little above 3 pounds within an hour. Thank you to all you guys who helped me get into bass fishing.
  8. The Eagle Claw and the Gamakatsu are both great hooks..i guess its just a personal preference over brand names.
  9. if it bothers you then dont reply to my threads. Im new t the forum so im learning.
  10. I also only use Gamakatsu hooks for my worm fishing, i prefer straight shank because it has a lower profile when texas rigged, therefore there is less for a fish to feel so the fish doesnt feel the hook and spit it out. Just my opinion.
  11. i have a ultralight zebco spinner with a 5foot matched rod. it is spooled with 8lb spiderwire mono. What are some cranks and topwater lures i can use with this little thing??

  17. I fish for the largemouths and i know that the ones in the pond i will be fishing average about 2-3 pounds, what should i use as far as lures, and rubber worms? I have 7.5" worms so should i cut them down to about 4-5" ?

  19. Am i wasting my time using a top water plug like the Heddon Zara Spook in the middle of the day when the water temp. is around 80 degrees?
  20. Ii have a Quantum bait caster spooled with 17# Cajun Line and it is very twisted and is quite aggrivating, I am going to re-spool my reel soon anyways with 15# Trilene. Do you guys have any tips to prevent this from happening again?
