  1. Thanks for all the very helpful responses, I will be replacing my monofilament on that reel with 65lb POwerPro or Suffix 832 very soon.
  2. Ive looked for a good article or thread on this. I have a few questions regarding jigging and braided line. 1) It is hard to feel a subtle strike using monofilament on my baitcaster so would braid be better for this application because I use that same rod and reel for crankbaits..? 2) Can I just tie the braided line directly on to my jig or crank or do I have to tie flouro to my braid and then to my jig or crank? 3) Does PowerPro float(above 50lb test)?
  3. cool man, good job! do you have any pictures?

  13. Bad idea. 1) ruins the action of the bait i the water. 2) Fish might swallow it. 3) theres no good reason to rig it like that.
  14. funny you posted this because I was just at dicks a week ago looking at the same lure but decided to pass on it!
  15. the problem is that it is the rod is very flexible even though it is a 2 piece and is strong, i just question its performance with crankbaits...? and it is a relatively cheap combo(quantum ignition)

  22. Lately ive been trying to make a decision on a new setup, I want to do all my fishing with mainly one rod and reel, I am good with a baitcaster and spinning reel. I want to use at least 14lb mono and I want a short rod (no more than 6'6". I only want to spend about $110 on this setup. I want something that will last me a while and will serve as an all purpose setup for me because I fish from banks and docks as well as the occasional wading. Please help give me some good suggestions, all these rods and reels out there have me all confused.
