Featured Replies

What is your favorite shakey head worm to use. Also what jig heads do you prefer. I belong to a local fishing club and everyone lately has been killing them on shakey heads. I have never fished this technique before. Any help would be appreciated

I really like 4.5" robo worms & zoom finesse worms. and i use jewel jig heads designed by jeff kriet. best heads there are!!!!

on a side note, make suure to use 6/8 lb test

Straight and curly-tail roboworms. I buy my shaky-heads from a guy on Ebay. Best shaky-heads I ever fished.

I mostly use pointy tail of a robo style worm.

Favorite heads- The ones I make. :D

Other than those worms did ok with the Squirrel Tail by Big Bite Baits. I got some Z-Man Elaztech. I haven't tried them yet. I'm trying to get more into shaky myself.

What kind of rod are you using for shaky? I'm almost forget welcome to Bassresource!!

I use Bagley's and some home made.

Spot Removers are great stand up finesse jigs, but not the same as shaky heads.

I suppose you are technically correct. Without a rounded bottom they may just be a standup jig. I have used a variety of jigs for "shaking" and always come back to Spot Removers. They do not come through grass and algae as good as some, but they just seem to catch fish.

Zoom Trickworms are my favorite for "shakyhead" fishing. When the bite is really slow I will go to Zoom Finesse worms.

I'd say the shaky head and spot remover are fundamental different, especially if the you are using a shaky head with a proper floating worm.

Here is the shaky head:

You can see quite a difference. I do love spot removers, though. Especially on rocky drops. Shaky head are a more general purpose/cover finesse rig to me.

Strike King for me, combined with a Strike King 3x or KVD finesse worm. I have used the Strike King heads for a few years now, and have not found one I like better. This is the first year I have use the SK worms, and I like them better than what I used to use (Zoom trick and finesse worms)

I use the gambler giggy heads (the straight barber threader, not the spiral threader) with straight tail roboworms. The giggy heads are the only shakey heads I've found that allow the bait to stand completely up and down. I've caught a ton of fish off them.

Every time I go to a tackle store and see a new brand or kind of shakey head, I'll probably buy it, so I've got lots of different kinds. My current favorites are the Bite Me shakey heads and the Chompers.

I like the trick worm style baits and 4" senko style baits along with small craws. I use the shakeyheads I pour.
