I would stick with: 2- 68 rof 12 and 2- 8 inch rof 12 then branch out from there. I know you have thrown them some, but you still want to make sure you are going to do this for a bit before you go whole hog on it. instead of getting both the TT and MSlammer, I would get one or the other to start...... you will quickly find your favorites to throw then the rest will collect dust or you with sell them. sounds like you are looking for a med hvy, moderate to moderate fast. get it as long as you can be comfortable with. the BPS cranking stick is a pretty nifty rod for the money, I would check them out as stated above.

Tom, I have a question.... in my lews reels a 6.4:1 is labeled 28IPT and a 7.1:1 is labeled 31 IPT.... shimano 7.1 is 27-28 IPT is it really needed to go all the way to an 8.1:1 to get an extra two inches IPT? or is it just marketing a cool sounding number? I have always wondered this. (never measured my lews or shimanos so I dont know which side the hype would fall if there is indeed hype to have)

for stuff I wanted totally secure and water proof I got two bass mafia bait coffins. I got the deep for jigs, I put every jig I own in it and only filled half the box. I am shocked at the amount of room in these boxes I got the normal one for terminal tackle...... I am REALLY going to like both of these boxes, the number of configurations you can use with all the dividers make them worth the price tag. for everything else I just get the normal everyday deep 3700.

Shane I think his point was this: if a 12# bass was shocked up/killed in CT, we are somewhat foolish it believe MUCH bigger fish can not be found in more southern waters. and for the most part I can buy that. Who knows what swims in the water? There is probably a world record swimming in several lakes across the country, never to be seen or caught, but they are there, lurking.

sounds fair but lets really think about it.... 1. your game and fish commision ever used a "slot limit" to encourage growth.... then you fish a farmed pond 2. ever enforced a creel limit... then you fished a farmed pond 3. ever fished a lake that been ferilized... then you fished a farmed pond 4. trout stocking....farmed pond 5. stocking shad or forge not native......then you fish a parmed pond 6. game and fish commission ever drained a lake to fix silted in spawning flats....then its a farm pond 7. FLMB or even NLMB ever been stocked or not native to your part of the counrty.... then you fish a farmed pond 8. fished a man made lake or even dammed river impoundment.......then is a farmed pond the list can go on and on and on....... anything done to or changed in a pond other than the way nature put it changes it to a farmed point by "technecality" solution to all of it...... go fish, be happy, and dont worry about it cause probably neither you or I are ever going to catch anything to be considered for the books anyway. There has never been a cleat cut, without question record fish caught, and never will, there will always be questions of how, when and why.
