I've been real happy with the Stors It, been using them for years. They are made of vinyl and slide out of the locker very easily.
  2. The Senko is definetely a great bait and I prefer the original Yamamoto, that said I think they are overused. I can make 4-5 times as many cast in an hour especially when fishing deeper water or if it's windy with weighted plastics, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs etc. when the bass are hitting these type of offerings. I will usually catch more fish than the "I usually only fish Senko" fisherman. Certainly the Senko has it's moments especially around the Spawn where it might be the most effecient bait for those conditions. Even around the spawn I often turn to Hula grub, tubes etc as I can fish these faster and often get as many or more bites. The Senko is a great tool and I'm sure it will almost always put fish in the boat if you stick with it. However I think an angler is shortchanging himself if he/she doesn't take the time to learn other baits/ techniques. That to me is the fun part of fishing is trying to fiqure out what's the best way to put fish in the boat, and each day is different and I'm glad that Senko's are one of many great options I can turn to.
  3. Some of my most productive soft baits would include... Zoom Trick Worms, Baby Brush Hogs, Super Flukes & Speed Craws 10" Berkely Power Worm Stanley Ribbitt Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver Roboworm Fat Straight Tail Worm Yamamoto Senko One that worked well for me this weekend was the Berkely Sabre Tail Worm on 5/16 oz Omega Saviour Shakey Head, a little different look and action than a regular straight tail worm. Colors that work well for me would include Smoke Purple, various green colors such as Watermelon, Green Pumpkin etc. & Junebug for most baits. For Flukes I would add White, Baitfish and similiar colors.
  4. Jigs with various trailers. Second would be a variety of crankbaits.
  5. I've done well with the Zoom 6" U tail, catches a lot of fish and is one of the few mass produced worms available in the Smoke Purple color which has been a great color for me. I also like throwing the 10" Powerworm & the 6" Berkely Fliptail. This year I bought a few bags of the Ragetail worms to try but I haven't used it enough to form an opinion, though I'm impressed with the action and have already caught a few on it.
  6. I prefer the Roboworm Fat Straight Tail, Zoom Shakey Tail & the Reaction Innovations Flirt.
  7. I have this rod and have been very pleased with it, I have it paired with Shimano 101D reel, 8 lb. Floro and I use this a finnesse rod. I primarily use it for small jigs with a light weedguard, an example would be a Baby Boo jig. This combo has put a lot of fish in the boat.
  8. Mann's Baby 1 minus is a classic, the Lucky Craft RC series can fit the bill if you keep the rod tip high.
  9. I'm definetely in line for the Black Dog, looks great.
  10. I bought a few of the Trick Darters which is a smaller profile jerk than the 110 and I was very pleased with the performance of this bait, I only have 1 Vision 110 and for whatever reason I haven't thrown it very much. I have a few of the Griffon's, but I prefer the RC cranks by Lucky Craft with their 0.5 bait being similiar in size. I do have one of their poppers, good bait but my favorite would be either the Yellow Magic or Excalibur Zell Pop which I think is a copy of the Yellow Magic.
  11. I have a few, the LC RC 0.5 in the Ghost color ripping it through shallow weeds. If there is shallow matted grass flip through the trash. I also like a 3" Senko or Dinger attached to a 1/16 oz Gopher Mushroom jighead, with a small hook this is surprisingly weedless and I will guarantee this will get rid of the skunk. A drop shot with a Roboworm leech or as already mentioned a slowly fished shakyhead would also be great options. For these finnesse application light line and long cast are very important in clear water with clear skies and no wind blowing.
  12. Soft jerks starts IMO with a Zoom Super Fluke, many also like the Sluggo though I have never used one. Hard jerkbaits, I would get a few Rapala Hushy jerks & X raps. If your budget allows get the Lucky Craft pointer in the 78 & 100 size to start. Great colors would include Ghost minnow, Aurora Pro Blue & Chartreuse Shad. If you really want to go overboard as I have consider the Megabass Trick Darter, Ima Flit, DD (Deep) series Lucky Craft Pointers , Jackall Squad Minnows & Squirrels (Deep) are also great jerks to round out your selection. Jerkbaits are like crank baits IMO, these different models will all shine at different times and are tools to be used when you are looking to cover various depths and there will be times when you need to downsize. It also helps to have a diverse selection of colors, I tend to favor the more tranluscent colors more often than not because these baits are at their best in clear water. There are times when you'll need solid colors, especially when the skies are overcast.

I'm glad to see G loomis come out with a new frog rod, I was thinking about getting one for next spring. Other baits that caught my eye were the 12" Yamamoto Kut Tail worms, the Omega Deep jigs, the Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx & the Rapala DT Thug. Ebby thanks for the links.
  14. The Midnight special will catch a few fish night fishing, but in my opinion there are better made spinnerbaits out there for this application. The Strikezone lure company Nite Bite spinnerbait has done real well for me. One of our fellow members whose moniker I can't remember turned me on to Rattlehead spinnerbaits, I tried them a couple of weeks back with great results.

I like to be counted as another fan of tthe Shimano Triple Impact. The cool thing about this bait is that it can be used as wake bait or you can rip it as a prop bait, sometimes I do both in the same cast. It's also caught some good ones for me during the rain. I also like the Xcalibur Wake crank, Jackall Cherry Zero footer, Lucky Craft RC wake bait as well. This is definetely a bait class that has put a lot of fish in the boat the last couple of years is a great alternative when you to try to get reaction strikes in shallow weed beds.
  16. I use both, but I prefer the 1/4 oz bait most of the time.
  17. Rico's are good, almost as good as Yellow Magic
  18. I've have had good success on a variety of them, if I had to pick one it would be the Yozuri Rattlin' Vibe. The Jackall TN 70, Spro Aruka Shad, SK Red Eye Shad, Excalibur XR 50, Koppers Crawfish trap have also performed well. This past Sunday the Sebile Flat Shad turned a slow day into a productive outing while my buddy who saw me catching them on a lipless crank barely got any bites with his rattling model. I think this is an instance where the rattling sound spooked the fish on the pressured lake that I was at. I also think that the transluscent color also helped because the water was very clear.

I can't narrow it down to a go to lure, as bassman31783 said it would be whatever the fish are biting. That said I have a selection of high confidence lures that varies depending on season, weather conditions and type of lake. Lately the silent version RC 1.5 crank has landed a lot of my fish. If I had to pick one it would be the jig, spring through fall, year afte year it delivers.
  20. Besides weightless & flipping, I've also have had good catches casting it with anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 tungsten slip sinkers on a T-rig. I also like to throw the Smallie Beaver on Shaky head.
  21. I've done well in rainy conditions & slightly choppy water with the Shimano Triple Impact, a unique lure that's fun to fish because you can slow wake it too. I just picked up 2 of Brian's Crankbaits Prop Bee 2, other than a couple of cast to see what it looks like in the water I haven't had a chance to fish it yet. If you go to his website check out the Cricket finishes which are very detailed paint jobs, I chose one of them in the Shellcracker color.
  22. I agree with LAO162 to try both, one way that works well for me is one big pop (try to spray a lot of water) followed by walking the bait quickly for a couple of feet, pause for a 1/2 to a full second and then repeat. My favorite popper is either the Excalibur Zell Pop or Yellow Magic, they both look very lifelike when you walk them in the water.
  23. I'm a big fan of the King Shad, they've put a lot of nice fish in the boat for me especially the Mojarra color. There are some people who have tried these and had them break at the joint, this has never happened to me and my understanding is that they have fixed this problem. I've used the Wake Shad a couple of times, still waiting for my first fish.

Great product, just started using a couple of weeks ago. I've been using it for paddeltube swimbaits.
  25. S.O.B. Mini Me, also like the Booyah pond magic.
